Can I import my 2025 donations from ItsDeductible?
Yes! If you exported your data before ItsDeductible shut down on October 21, 2025, Kebab can import your January-October donations. Continue tracking through December in Kebab, then export one complete 2025 report at tax time.

Can I import a thrift store receipt or a handwritten donation list?
Yes — and no other donation app can do this. With Import from Photo (Premium), photograph any itemized list: your own handwritten inventory or an itemized thrift store receipt. Kebab reads every item, looks up fair market values from real sales data, and logs them as regular donation entries — no typing required.

Does Kebab work with TurboTax Desktop or H&R Block Desktop?
Yes, via TXF export (Standard and Premium). Both TurboTax Desktop and H&R Block Desktop support TXF — a standardized tax exchange format — as their import method for charitable donations. Kebab exports TXF files compatible with both.
TurboTax Desktop: Go to File → Import → From Accounting Software (Windows) or File → Import → From TXF Files (Mac) and select your Kebab TXF export. TurboTax preserves individual per-charity donation records after import.
H&R Block Desktop: Go to File → Import Financial Information, select "Other program that supports Tax Exchange Format (TXF)", and choose your Kebab TXF export. Note that H&R Block aggregates all imported cash donations into a single total and all non-cash donations into a single total, losing the per-charity breakdown. If per-charity detail matters to you, use Kebab's PDF or CSV export as a reference and enter donations manually instead.
One limitation is inherent to the TXF format itself, not specific to Kebab: TXF does not support mileage or stock donations. These types are fully included in Kebab's CSV and PDF exports — with totals, dates, organizations, and the applicable IRS mileage rate — so you have everything you need to enter them manually in either program.

Does Kebab work with TurboTax Online?
TurboTax Online does not support importing charitable donation data from any app. This is an Intuit decision, not a Kebab limitation — and the backstory is worth knowing.
When ItsDeductible existed, it synced with TurboTax via a private API that Intuit controlled. The CSV that ItsDeductible let you export was only ever a personal archive, not an import format. When Intuit shut down ItsDeductible in October 2025 — in the middle of a tax year, with no replacement — they also closed that API. TurboTax Online now has no import path for charitable donations at all. Intuit won't even accept the CSV format their own tool used to generate.
If you use TurboTax Online, your options are:
- Enter donations manually using your Kebab PDF or CSV export as a reference. Your Kebab report lists every donation — items, cash, mileage, and stock — with amounts, dates, organizations, and fair market values.
- Switch to TurboTax Desktop for the year. Desktop supports direct TXF import from Kebab and is otherwise functionally identical for most filers.
Kebab's exports are designed to make manual entry as fast as possible if that's the route you have to take: donations are organized by charity and date, with totals clearly summarized.

What export formats does Kebab support?
Kebab offers different export options depending on your subscription tier:
- FREE: CSV export of all your donation records — items, cash, mileage, and stock.
- STANDARD: CSV export, plus TXF export for direct import into TurboTax Desktop and H&R Block Desktop. All donation types are included in the CSV; see TurboTax Desktop and H&R Block Desktop for notes on TXF format limitations.
- PREMIUM: Everything in Standard, plus professional PDF reports with itemized summaries for Schedule A, and a pre-filled IRS Form 8283 for non-cash charitable donations.
The PDF reports provide a print-ready summary of your complete donation history. The Form 8283 export generates IRS-compliant PDFs with appraisal tracking and detailed disclosure breakdowns — a document no competing donation app produces, and that web-based alternatives cannot generate. All tiers include every donation type — items, cash, mileage, and stock — in CSV export; PDF reports and Form 8283 export are PREMIUM only.
