remember in p.e. when they'd take a bunch of insecure teenagers & be like "today we're going to play basketball" and then not teach you how to play basketball. and then put you in a group with guys who were obsessed with basketball and would get mad at you for not knowing how to play basketball. why did they do that

I just saw a post talking about differentiating bone from rock by touching it to your tongue and seeing if it sticks, and now I'm just picturing Occtis picking up a difficult to identify item, starting to bring it to his mouth, realizing that's not going to work (no saliva), and immediately pivoting to trying to get one of his companions to lick it for him and tell him if it sticks to their tongue.

(He's probably going to have the most success with Dame Seremai by relying on her sense of duty. Unfortunately for her, she probably understands exactly what she's being asked to test, and that if a Tachonis necromancer thinks it resembles bone enough to be worth checking, then there is a significant chance she's about to lick something that used to be human.)

i’m late as hell but can i just shoutout Brennans academic NPCS specifically. I loved the whole cleric lore drop just for the richness it adds to the text but i LOVE the dr we met this last episode. You can tell he grew up surrounded by academics and researchers and archivists because Brennan is always spot fucking on with the disorganization of thought and excitement and single minded focus of a real academic. Just the way she reacted to having a vision and how long it took her to tell them why she was so excited about them going to Build a Celestial. Mwah.
