T STands For HeimaT - Lucullan Homeland

First of all:
Thank you all for your very kind, encouraging comments on last post!
It means a lot to me.
It means a lot that I can be honest. And that you´re still there. I will try and keep on fighting. Certainly. If slowly.
Slowly because... Corinna seems to make it slow!
I asked team Inga, twice. No answer. I asked the city´s counsil. Nothing.

My Brother called me yesterday, as if he felt I am down.
He, as you, helped.
Ingo understood, too.

It´s not "all good", but much better.
Those who know me in real life know how shy I am, how afraid of doing wrong, not good enough, a life-long problem that I will not overcome.

So the more: Thank you! Thank you for having taken your time to "listen" and for giving me hope, advice, for being there!

Now, I try to go for some fun, OK? I have another local cook-book to introduce you to.

One of the recipes is on pickled eggs, I usually use Ingo´s, though.
And with that here comes my art-contribution for today:

I also experimented with egg-colors:

The book is written in Plattdüütsch / Low German and Standard- or Hochdeutsch / Standard German, that´s what we speak.
When Ingo was in Southern Germany he was called an "arrogant As#hole! You speak like the news guy on TV! You think you´re better than we are?!".
No, that´s how we speak here, LOL.

My Grandma came from near Königsberg and spoke Platt, Ingo loves to follow radio shows in Platt, too.
One dish my Granma made often - we wasted no food - was:

Arme Ritter, or, as you know it French toast.

Here you see a Braunschweig icon:

The Altstadtrathaus.

It´s a fun book, the recipes are in Platt and German and it comes with vocabulary, too!
Just see how different it is!
First I give you Standard, then Lower German and then English, the first two are sometimes really different, don´t you think?

Was notwendig ist / Wat nödig is - What you need

_______

Zutaten (the following possibilities)

Taudaaten
Wat du brükest
Wat datä hört
For dit Eten bruket wi
Wat man so bruket

- ingredients

_______

Ich nehme dazu / Ik nehme datä - I take

_______

Zubereitung

Wie et emaket warf
Wie et emaket ward

- preparation

(I stick to Standard - Lower - English)

Erbsen - Arften - peas
Erdbeeren - Arbiern - strawberries
Tasse - Köppchen - cup
Röhrenklump - Backofen Kloß - dumpling
Zusammen - tähupe - together

To qualify for Elizabeth:
YAY, things open up! Jürgens Brauerei re-opened!!

Yes. We sit in a parking space.
These young blokes are a start-up-team and open only on Thursdays for public. But it is special and we certainly love to "help" getting the business up!

Even if it´s...

Taking part in Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday".

Henry? He thinks he´s in a fairy tale, succeeding over Corinna a bit!

Slowly back to normal, huh?

Here We Are.

We share. All the good, all the bright colors, all the fun.

There is the dark, though.
I lost it.

At first. I lost my project.
I was good! Really. Out of 5 it was me whom they kept.
People who did not belong no more said I can count on them. And I did. I could. They were there.
Happy times.

Then the Diesel-affair, my customer (Volkswagen) had to let go of my project... and me.

FINALLY!!!!
FINALLYYYYYYYYYY....

No more driving.
Let me explain!
I drove a lot of cars.
Only ONCE in my life I asked Ingo to take over - and he had the very same problem!!!

I had an accident later and EVER SINCE I am a danger to myself... and to you, too.

FINALLY!
I could WALK to work!!!

Like they´d PROMISED me 16 years ago.
SIXTEEEN. Years. AGO.

New boss. What did you do? Oh! You brought in money, from Volkswagen! Do that again!!!

Long story short I got "terminated" (the day I thought he´ll finally take my now since 12 months useless car, too!).
My colleague, who got terminated, also, waited for me.
She took me into her arms and we cried... outside.
We tried to have lunch. Kale, I remember. I could not.
I felt so sick, so lost.
ALL MY LIFE I´ve been working. ALL MY LIFE.

THAT GAP.

I´m still lost, more than that.

Ingo has no respect for me no more.

And who can blame him.
I am nothing.

Do I fight, like I did?
No.
I feel sick. Lost.Old.

No understanding.
From no one and I do not expect you do.

You should say:

GET UP!!!
TRY (and loose out big again, yes, it happened but once, but it hurt).

TRY, GO.DO.

But without love and without support.
Can you shrink within yourself, I can, I did. I feel I´m not here no more.

Even Henry is not strong enough to help me out of this...

Sorry.
But here I am.
A real person.
Like you.
I have my ups and downs and after I wished so much for a wonderful, long weekend reality hit. Me. BIG.
I am not young anymore.
But too young to quit.
Life is weird.

All I want is love. And a good job, and who does not?
I´m just an overall gal.
Like you.
Oh, boy.
Wish I could "Quantum Leap" and "do right what once went wrong"....

"To make the world a better place" - that is what Quantum Leap stands for.

"The lifes you´ve touched, touched other´s... and those lifes... others!"

"I wanna go home."

"Then why haven´t you?"
"Because I cannot control my future."

... "Sam, you will only do this as long as you want to..."

"What is the catch?"

The catch is that you have to accept that you control your own destiny...."

Splendid Blue Fairy Wren

Mural taken on March 1st 2019 at my love-hate Elizabeth Quay in beautiful Perth.

"Chirriger, meaning ‘Splendid Blue Fairy Wren,’ is a Noongar totem and one of the most beautiful birds in the South West. Chirriger is the first collaboration between designer Sandra Rives of Red Opium and local Aboriginal artist Peter Farmer." You can read more about it here.

I miss Perth... and "it´s people", as in host & other friends.
When will I be able to see you again?
"Corinna", go home...

Taking part again in Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals.

Hot´N Crazy

It got lovingly warm (sadly cooled down again) - and we still wait for rain.
The trees at least get some water from the city.

I see men walking around like this - somehow it looks out of place in the city...

Is that a "street worker"?
Yes, another "German phenomenon".
In Stuttgart last weekend there was a riot. Drunk young men destroyed the inner city, went brutally against the police.
So, they said in the news, they have loads of police and "street worker" to prevent another riot.

Yes, picture it!
It´s embarassing.
But when there are "important" soccer games, people gather for "public viewing" here.

Yes. Now you stay away from this blog, right? Please don´t ban me, let me explain...

"The German" means "social worker", they work in the street and being the dumb, ignorant German, without "research" they call the guys "street worker". Picture it. You go into an anglophone country, look for a job in the social caring system and claim you are a street worker. They´ll send you to the next brothel, right?

And when you wanna top it, ask where you can go for public viewing, preferably with a bottle of beer in your hand, a hat in black, red, gold on your head, and a scarf in the same colors, maybe a lille German flag in your hand, too.

"We" want to be so modern...

... but ignorance strikes very often:

When a stupid German asks you for public viewing he means this.

Oh, help.

Henry?
He´s proud his sibling helps the trees in the heat (of the argument on dumbness ignorance?)...

Do you face stupidity-problems language-wise, too?
Please let me know, if you do, I feel quite alone here with this!

MUTTI

Italian MUTTI is no Mama and got a second life caring for plants, let´s go a tad romantic today, how about that?

I used to call my Mother "Mutti", my Brother called her "Mami".
Crazy, huh?

And, oh, wouldn´t you like to come home to this?

Or sit here?

Or step down, take your lille boat and have a tour on river Oker?

Ahhh.
We went for coffee and Henry approved!

More to come on this visit :-)
Happy Saturday to you!

How did/do you call your parents?
Dad I called "Papi", Bro said "Papa".
How come Siblings take different names? Anyone an idea?

(En)Closed

Coffee stand at technical university.
Today I show you how Ingo has to work these days.
It´s not only that there is no natural light, which is bad enough.
On warm/hot days there is not a breeze, no aircon and temps are around 30C.

He has to concentrate in this and work with very small parts, in fact he needs a microscope to see what he´s doing.
And there isn´t much more to see than his work these days:

Not very professional with what the company came up, considering social distance, huh?
Ingo did the best to make it a bit funny at least:

(from our toilet graffiti)

Oh, Corinna, you bring us weird times...

You can guess, Ingo comes home very tired these days.
But the company cares! Come 25C they provide drinking water, even cooled down.
Yes, generous, huh? Read this as in I add a tad irony here.
My Brother always buys coffee, water and juice for his staff.

At least Ingo likes his work per se!

Henry? He says it´s weekend soon which means: Enjoy the heat!

He sends greetings to his siblings in Cottesloe at the Indiana (again, when can we come back, Corinna? And what´ll happen to the Indiana?).

Do you have such weird solutions in your workplace, too, or are you able to do home office?

Bored And Lonely

We payed the Museum of Natural History a visit the other day.
Well, we didn´t go inside, but only checked on the lonely guys in front...

They have not many visitors recently, as you can guess...
And if, they don´t dare to come near, see Father and Son in the background, haha, afraid of these cuties:

So Ingo braved up and offered a chat.

First this dino checked for cars and such.
Not many around, but you never know!
Because... running into the street can be dangerous, right?

Trust the dino, Ingo!
Because can ...

... lie or mean any harm?

Henry doesn´t think so and even allowed a weaker "sibling" to take his job today:

As the dinos the cat made it into the new summer! :-)
