Just Enjoy

Pic taken at our bus-stop, beautiful,no?
Ingo wanted to sleep in, so all that was left to do was go to Joondalup.

Well, I didn't buy it, one Gurri is enough, right?
Instead.... guess!

Yep! Wonder, what the girl wrote down for a name, again under name tags at "I" I did not find mine ...

But we got what we wanted and...

Heaven. It must be the meat!

It was yum!

The girl understood we want to share the burger.
But I had to explain twice we wanna share the creature, too, LOL!

Oh, in case you don't know: Grill'd supports the locals, that's what the tokens are for. Three jars, three projects, just choose.

Happy/thankful: MIL. Via FB from Spain. She writes whilst we sleep (being aware of that), me answering the other way round. Oh, do I miss my Mum anyways or because of it. Perth. I mean: Perth!!! Firefighter Tim.
I... we'll go get the sexy calendar.

Underestimated - The Power Of Tired

Yesterday we got up at around 6:00 am, actually in the middle of the night for our bodies, but I felt fit!
Later P came to collect us - luckily also because suddenly all went quiet - the power was gone on the whole site. Means no aircon!

But Grace and P do have a pool that we all, Sami was with us again, entered more of less quickly.
Soooo good once you dared to get in (the tied brolly? Just like ours it payed the neighbors a visit. Are brollies bored or just curious, I wonder?).

Grace had made the yummiest quiche, Sami brought rice-pudding, but I had to finish off with the quiche, for sure :-)

Aww, the plate, gorgeous, no? Dangerous to give that to me but I was extra-extra-careful:-)

Ingo looked and felt tired and I was like, haaa, nooo, I feel fit, like totally fit. Was true at that moment, too.

Grace has a real mango tree, I sent T a pic, as he takes care of mine now:

All this was such a treat, but it started in the car already... I had to yawn. Again. And again...
By golly I suddenly grew that tired, I had to lie down.

So much for being fit :-)
Can only get better now!

Happy/thankful: Heat, cool pool, friends and a fun time, yummy food....

Addendum: T said he didn't show the pic to Miss Mango, awww, bet they'd be friends, too!

Back To Back (Nearly)

Yesterday after "sleeping in"/adjusting we moved to another cabin.
Not as good as our old one we had from 2013 on, but much, much better than the "upgrade".
Actually, after our remodelling - care for a dance, just come on in :-)

We have enough space to have fixed places for things, otherwise...
Us ole Outback-veterans improvise. The kitchen-board did not complain to store toiletries ;-)
There is no space at all in the tiny toilet... no bathroom, either, who styles these cabins, I wonder???

Well, the shower-door (yes, we have a shower-door) just is happy we do not add more senseless graffiti - WHY, just why do people do that? It's beyond my understanding!

At the lille grocery the other brother worked today (crazy everytime you can go shopping on Sundays) and recognised us immediately, too.
So much for checking my backpack on drugs, Frankfurt! When mongoes, avos etc are declared drugs, try again.

Also so easy at Big W to use the self-checkout.
In Germany so far (as I know) only IKEA and Bauhaus (hardware store) offer this.

We can watch TV (Ingo used a simple stick to fix that):

Or we enjoy our "verandah":

Soon we'll be picked up by Grace's Hubby for a brunch and swim in their pool with Sami (who is hosting Monday Mural where I join, too).

To have a pool, not a plastic thingy, a real pool!

Not Siberian cold but summer!!!
T can have all the snow he was wishing for! :-)
Let me tell you:
I am thankful we can afford and do all this and have these fun and generous people in our lives - I do not take this for granted...
And sure I am happy/thankful we got this compromise-cabin

OH! AND! One more thing!
Yes, it's Monday! And most people have the day off for free because Australia Day fell on a Saturday.
In Germany a public holiday falls on the weekend, your bad luck.

Channel Nine News btw said yesterday this was "Australia's best, biggest Australia Day celebrations"! HA!!

Hello Red Cutie Pie

As too often there is no hint on the artist.
Mural found at BraWoPark.

Too cute, no?
Just like the kids here!

Taking part again in Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals.

Our First Straya Day

(Note the heli in the pic!)
Despite we've been in Australia / Perth six times before we've never been here on "Straya Day" but yesterday.

Seemingly at first no jet lag we were super-fit (but later failed to get tired).
We went to the city to meet Grace plus hubby and Sami, sadly minus hubby, who had to work.

So great to catch up again, it's been two years!
After a cuppa Sami took us to Langley Park via a great detour, a place I'd never thought to walk in, the State buildings in Barrack St, just have a look:

From there we headed to Langley Park and "secured" a place right by the river - very good choice!

Sami brought home-made hearty muffins and beet-root chips/crisps, hmmmm...yum!

And we sure were't by ourselves, too!

The sun set beautifully...

And then the show began, it was really something!

No video (yet) as we have internet only via cellphone, but let me assure you it was worth going, at home... haaaa, no such show ever!

Bye Grey, Hello Blue

Do I look like some addict, please tell me no.

At Airport Frankfurt you not only have to strip down to your t-shirt, take all your sealed liquids out of your backpack, get seriously checked from front and back by an officer of your sex, no, my backpack was also checked for drugs!
Seriously?!
And despite I am the most boring person in this sector, my heart beat a beat faster (you never know if someone uses you as courier).

Still some have humour.
At the x-ray the officer showed me how to stand (Legs wide, hands above your head), said with a serious face, now take a deep breath.... aaaand... hold... for 30 minutes, grinning at me ;-)

Again we needed to wait in line - this time for way over an hour - to have the plane defrosted.
This time at least the pilot kept us on track!
We hence missed the flight in Singapore and had to hurry, too, so... no pics from all the beautiful art there.

At least I managed to identify another couple and could sit beside Ingo after all.
I hate flying!

Our luggage made it, too, Transperth thanks Smartrider no problem.

And then.
Last Friday I asked for confirmation of our cabin - nothing.
Had all proofs (e-mail/payment via Perth-friend) with me.

Now, HOW COME????

I booked in April 2018. Our cabin (working aircon/TV/fridge) was booked and given a first payment, yet another "lady" lives there and "refuses" to move out.
How is that possible, change of management is no excuse in my eyes!

We got an "upgrade" ... "for free".
TV not working, rooms are great for a family with kids, not good for couples, you hardly make it to the bathroom without knocking against the board... filthy, too...

After being awake 30 hours non-stop that was not a nice start.

But our Pakistani grocery-family not only greeted us cheerily, we even got a lille fruit-pressie :-)

But at least...

Went to the management today - they prepare another cabin of our (nearly, more later) old style, all Ingo has to do is: repair the TV!

They were apologizing, us, too, tomorrow we'll move and Tuesday the latest all will be good!

And what horror stories they told us, too!
They only took over six weeks ago.
One tenant in a seemingly clean cabin lost (her ring or such) grabbed into the sofa and into a syringe!
Our old cabin... TV got stolen, cabin demolished!

When we first came here in 1999 there was a sign at the entrance , "A place we call home" - now people who can't afford a home come here mainly, not tourists/travelers!
Sad, no?

But: Last time activating the phone took 12 - 24 hours, now MINUTES, yay, we're online and you can call us!

Off soon to meet friends and celebrate Straya Day!

Aussies: Have a Happy One!

(No Lion of the day for now as we're in beautiful Perth)!

Push Together?

Gah, the Hotel in Kelsterbach has two beds, I hate that.

So, I asked, "push them together?" to which Ingo replied:

"No. We sleep in one." :-)

Part I of the journey is done.

Last Lion of the day for a while taken at the windiest train station in Europe, Braunschweig (according to my Mum).

Aaaaand... Off!

When last time we were in the city by ourselves we found this at the tourist info, our city in Lego!
Well, kinda.

This sure is the Happy Rizzi House!

When with family we saw this fella:

A tough guy!
This morning we had - (minus!) 8C!

And Mama is angry!

The peanuts aren´t enough, she WANTS the bird-food! She´s attacking real hard, too, that woman can fight!!!
T called the feeding place "Alcatraz", LOL! Or rather Alcatraz is nothing compared to this :-)
I´m curious what to find when we´re back!

So far...

T asked if I´m nervous already.
Yes!
I hate, hate, hate flying, I plain hate it.
Plus... New management at our place.

Friday I wrote an e-mail asking them to confirm we have the cabin, as I ordered and paid last April - with difficulties and help from you Perth-friends, too - no answer.

Why offer e-mail as contact and not use it??? Don´t do that!

At least we still have these to get there...

I am so looking forward to a wonderful holiday, but I calm down only once we´re really "home"...
I feel terrible.

Can you relate?

One thing keeps me going, culinary... Guess, yep, Grill´d, much better than this...

(not that I gave it a go, ewww)

Funny enough: Found this in my Aussie-purse:

Some 50 cent, no? :-)

Lion of the day: Our Henry in Lego :-)

Bye-bye for Braunschweig soon, my love... Hello, Perth, my second love...
Off to Frankfurt!

Thursday we´re heading direction Singapore.

Happy/thankful: We can afford this holiday, we are healthy, we escape the darn cold - and hopefully meet dear friends, too! :-)
