Shy And Wild

Sunday the shops were open and family came by to buy clothes for the ever growing kids and "celebrate" Niece´s 6th birthday.

Bro said all the way to us she spoke but about finally seeing me again, laughing and looking forward to it.

And then when she finally was here... hiding behind Mummy.
For, say, 30 minutes!
The Wee one took her as an example and maybe was tired, too. Or maybe our condo is too colorful, she was stressed, no idea.

The green "candy-ball" finally broke the shyness and Niece turned from -10 to +100, jumping in my arms and all!
I see myself in the first part, but not the second, crazy.

Wee one fell in love with the dotted balloon, didn´t open her pressies!
So much for they want what the big ones get... crazy kids!

After cake and milk we made our way to the city.

I told Niece my poo-story to keep her off the grass, and my THAT worked, LOL!

The kid´s store had a free trampoline and Niece showed the other kids how to do it, no?

Ok, yes, they have one at home, too.

Suddenly Niece warmed up even to tall, loud Ingo, jumping in his arms - and not letting go, giggling her head off, hanging like a wet cloth in his arms!

(Full pic again here.)

Whilst they shopped some more we made another power-walk and took some more 45 minutes of wait, cause... last day the guys from Hamburg were here!

We made it back in time even so we all could walk back home/to their car together and certainly Niece was sad to leave.

Let´s see how things go when I visit them for Wee ones birthday on Oct 5...

We All Made It

With full bellies we started the last 3 km home last Saturday.
Those two jogging "smurfs" overtook that guy who wore the same colors, funny view.

Despite full bellies Ingo bent down cause...

Nice, but with sums like that he won´t get rich!

But it was a wonderful warm evening, soooo beautiful!

At Löwenwall.

The sun slowly was setting.
A beautiful sight, no?

You just have to celebrate each and every single summer-day, even if it pays a visit in Autumn, right?

The next day it wasn´t 24,1 km but a bit of walking was involved, too. And another summer-day!
With family!

Getting Closer

OK, now this the nearly last post on Saturday, promised!
River Oker is much, much smaller than Perth´s Swan River, our swans are not black but white - and much, much taller :-)

We passed by this cool ad:

Very sadly we saw:

Too late, next day family was to visit.

We finally made it to BraWo-Park near the main trainstation and after a 20 minutes wait I could take this picture:

It says, we can guarantee the high quality of our beef, hence we prepare our burger medium. | If you wish a different...
Guess no one wants it different!

All in all it was a 45 minutes wait! Guess you were way quicker here...

But it so was worth the wait.

Cause... caution, drool-alarm:

I´m "sorry" to say... but this was even (way) better than Grill´d!

The Winner Takes It All

Sorry, if I gave you an earworm ;-)
To not go for another galore here´s the first part of our third tour last Saturday, where all in all we made some 24,1 km.

Clearly Lions are everywhere in The City of Henry the Lion, this shop is called "Das Löwe-Rad", a bicycle shop.
With a very eager Henry, no?

And, well...

This fella lies in front of St. Katharinen, btw.

Next we passed a Photo-studio called "Löwen-Foto Braunschweig".
Just wonder why the mural has no... lion?

Looks like a crying sperm cell, kinda, and hence rather falls in the category "looser", no?

But this city is no looser, being the theme of this MERIAN again!

And I think rightfully, what do you think?

Been even once in there with my ex-ex-teamleader.
All called T, all from East Germany, all more like friends, lucky me, huh?

It was still a long way and you could say we arrived rather hungry!
And, I can assure you.... we were winners!

Feed Me!

It took quite a while, but finally, finally the bridge is ready!

Brand new...

More green for the city, right?

And yes. It says "HORROR" :-(

What we wanted was some horror, too, kinda ;-)

Poor dude will feed on dirty clothes, though!

What Ingo insisted to buy were these:

Now I cannot say mine, it´s our...

Do I spoil them too much?
As excuse... we´re not there for Christmas this year.

After this I went to get some milk to see this...

That´s some seven crates plus some more empty bottles of beer that didn´t fit in anymore.
Some party it must´ve been, huh?

But It´s True, Too!

Yesterday we were rather active.
As in 383%, 37600 steps, 24,1 km and some burned 2569 calories :-)

The truth?
Standing right in front of the burger truck, this is what Ingo blurred out. Like rather not silently ;-)

This was part one of our run.
And I have to say.
I saw one thing neither would be proud of to see, not him:

(Ok, he´s a copy, but don´t tell him!)
... nor him:

Someone pooped on a bench. It wasn´t a dog.
Gross. A statement, I suppose.
I really wonder what to do so my family won´t look at it, too, take another route to the city?

On Bolweg I was luckily fast enough to look away.
A group of Punks sitting on the ground, drinking, one puking.
It was eleven in the morning.
On a weekend where tourists are there to join the sport-events offered in the city.

I really wonder why police / the city allows this.

Don´t wanna end on a negative note, though.
We didn´t want to visit Henry, actually this is where the (fake) atomic clock used to be!

See second pic from above in the link, this is the original :-)

More to come, as said, we made 24,1 km on foot yesterday!

We Have A Teenager Now

Ingo came home with butter, bacon, coke and... the words "I got a handicapped, you gotta like him".

Well.
Somehow "broken" stuff usually ends up by chance here and "pimples" aren´t really a handicap - or are they?
Depends on from which side you see 'em, huh?

A very, very early happy Halloween, the teenie is doin' fine here :-)

It´s Safe (No Lights Off)

Yesterday we went to see the final event of the Lichtparcours 2016, "Lights off".

I cannot present you pics of it.
Because, well, when I get up at 04:40 am I´m not willing to make a bike tour at "night" - I really wonder why they don´t have this event later, when it´s getting dark earlier!

Anyhows. They said the main event with a big stage, culinary and musically happenings will take place in front of the "castle".

Luckily Ingo said, let´s have a Pizza at zea first.

It was warm enough to sit outside.
Ingo moved the petroleum lamp to make room for the pizza and.. petroleum on the table, ew that smell.

You know Ingo, right?

He saw the next table, standing not even, had the same problem.
Ingo got up and ...

Put the chair to safety :-)

And then... no more playing around!

De.li.cious.

Then we made our way to the castle.
A mini-stage with a very untalented man trying to sing, that was it - and we were an hour "late"!

Dumb me had had the smaller part of the pizza cause... culinary happenings, huh?
Big disappointment!

Ingo wanted to take some Italian bacon home.

He talked me into taking 2 slices of Mortadella.

How thick, I was asked. Normal.

What can I say, these guys are not from Tuscany!

Soooo thin!
Ok, but not as yummy as in our Tuscany-holiday.

Good thing Ingo wanted to go to zea - it would have been a very disappointing evening otherwise.

And the poor chair for sure would´ve had some petroleum on the cushion.
