An International Shadow

Today my city celebrated the International Festival for the 34th time.

On the way there:

At the Polish stand they tried to cheat Ingo. Sad.

I had a very, very yummy Falafel at this stand:

Dunno, guess boys don´t wanna refered to as beautiful, but this one was.
And over him we got into an argument.
Time is precious, Ingo said. But now here I sit alone, a mere shadow of myself. Sad.
Sometimes I just get tired of it all.
Of understanding and all the things promised.
We´re all just humans but I feel pretty much left alone again.
Literally.

Anyhows, these guys...

...were really good, have fun!

There Is A Need For It, Obviously

We didn´t take the bikes but went to the white horse shopping centre for a walk.
This is Amalien-park, what a lovely name, huh?

And love... well, as weird as it is, this is to be found right at the entrance:

Weird, cause after you pass those beautiful roses:

You see what this park also is:

A playground!

Really, it kinda makes me wonder... huh? Condoms???

Ahhh, roses:

The color goes right with the house, no?

And look at this, beautiful, no?

Tolerated, but not allowed!

The city wants it to look like this, how sad:

Filly!

Now this is weird.
Yesterday, see last post, my Niece was "appalled" I didn´t know what Filly is.

And today Filly jumped in my eye!
And yes, I bought the book with a Filly-figure.
And, by golly, there is so much to read - seems to be for an older kid! Auntie never learns, huh?

The weather is truly weird.
Yesterday only 9C max, but our neighbours celebrated father´s day outside anyways - Bollerwagen included, as you can see!

Today it says 16C, partially cloudy, but it feels like 24C!
Sun is off and on, no idea if a bike-tour´d be wise...

I Can Do That By Myself!

It´s father´s day, the start of a long (and rainy?) weekend.
Off we went to visit Bro and family and Ingo´s parents.

Full pics and video as always here, friends are welcome to sign in :-)

Bro said 10:15 earliest!
We rang the doorbell at 10:17 and Bro was near to being worried and laughed his head off when I said, we got stuck in traffic jam and were still way too early, so we went off the highway and took the slow route through the villages...

Yikes, construction work till December. 2015!!!

At first Niece was shy, but soon she sat and lay on the table telling me about her life.
That she got a new Filly.

What is a Filly???
Filly is a horse with crown.
She couldn´t believe I didn´t know and had to show me straight away!

She turned into a true girly-girl - gone are the times when she wanted a "Ameise", which is some sort of truck you use on construction sites, pink it is now!

First pic: She was so dang fast on her slide!

She also has a big horse, as pink as her princess-bed:

And it´s not only pink, oh no, turn on the sound:

It´s so dang loud, I couldn´t hear what she was saying!

Does it have a name?, I asked?
Ummm... "Pony." - "Pony who?" - "... ...." - "K"? - "No!" - "???" - "K-N!" (Her Mum´s last name)
Cute!

Then she said she has to go pee - alone!
And came back... she couldn´t get on the toilet by herself ;-)

So there we sat, she on the toilet, me in front and she talked and talked and talked - a true Daddy´s Girl!

When I finally asked if she´s done, she grinned and said, long ago already!

The soap is certainly pink with glittery stuff, what else?

We had to go back to her room, hence all I said to Bro after all was a mere Hi and Bye!

The big Sis to be!:

For lunch we went to Ingo´s parents, who live right around the corner.
Ingo´s Mum hugged me with the words, "now real Daughter in law" - and right, first time we saw each other since last summer! Over winter they stay in Spain, hence...
Ingo´s Dad hugged me and said, you wanna go for a stroll with the dog right away or later?, knowing I´m afraid of dogs ;-)
I thought the now mature Frieda (not my Grandma) might jump at me, but no! "Stay" she did!

Well most of the time, and it was a real pain for her, too...
Never have I met a dog that well behaved!

Later she fell asleep and made the funniest sounds. Obviously someone threatened her in her dream, she even growled :-)

We were home around three - and even got a place for my car in this very street!

Sadly still rainy/cloudy, 9C.

Hmmm, Warm Dog-Poo Between My Toes

It was still warm today with around 23C, we followed our "tradition" and went to the city.

Our Polish waitress told me bout the German wedding she attended on Sat, she said it was plain awful.
Not only cake, sweet, sweet cake - which she dislikes as much as me - but, since the bride was vegan, only salads, one dish of meat, very chewy, and one dish of fish, stinking of fish already.

She ... haha. :-)
Germans drink beer, right?

Well, she, being from Poland, said you have to go too often, so, on occasions like this she prefers wine. But the wine wasn´t good. Three glasses only, and they stayed there till 3 am.

Wow, I thought, not healthy, not enough fluid.

Guess what?
LOL, she filled it up with Schnaps! Let´s not talk about health!!
Guess our wedding was a tad... more sober for sure ;-)

On the way back home I saw this sad ice-cream cone from the pic above.

Ingo said, one sad kid sure cried about this, huh?

And reminded me of how our Perth-friend´s then-8-year-old Son nearly puked when I (for what reason ever - another fallen ice-cream-cone?) told the story of when I was about ... his age.

There was the ice-cream-man once a week at my cousin´s place where I had to spend summer-vacations near Hamburg.

Each Wednesday, if I remember right, the music of his truck made us kids run to him.
Something we did not have at home.

I got pistachio.
We ran around barefooted.
I stormed after my older cousin, turned around the corner to their garden and some dog...

Warm dog poo got between my toes, I fell, my ice cream went all over the place like in the pic above.
My cousin laughed her head off, my Aunt was really mad.

And my super yummy ice-cream was gone, melting in the grass - only once a week we got it!

Said Son nearly puked ;-)

Some stories just repeat themselves all over again and again, no?

Did you loose your ice-cream once and if so, why?
Yikes. The feeling of still warm dog-poo between my toes.
And the ice-cream being gone for good...

Love For Free Behind Bars (A Stroll Around Campus)

Pic-galore ahead, just as a "warning" ;-)
Yesterday we started summer season, finally, finally, yayyyy, the BBQ - well, one of our three - made the first sausages and corn of the year!

And today started with self made strawberry cake!

Exclusively for me in a heart:

Yes, I know, I always state I don´t like sweets - but this one is really fruity (is that a word?).

Our "waiter" at Schadt´s btw told us she just went to a wedding in her home-country, Poland, it was great!
Yesterday she had to attend a German wedding - she wasn´t looking forward to that one cause...
In Poland you get a Schnaps, then hearty food.

In Germany... sweet cake. She doesn´t like sweets, either! And when Ingo told her some even have cake at midnight at the wedding she really didn´t want to go anymore ;-)
See, it´s not just me, there are people around who just do not like sweet flavour!

Not so sweet... The red one is mine:

This dumb### parked that near to me! Luckily I have a tad of space to the back and hopefully get out tomorrow, but guess what! dumb### found his master! that´s how he is "caged" now!

Hopefully he doesn´t want to drive away today... in case, I have his number-plate.

On we went to the park, river Oker with a house nearby:

Beautiful, no?

Hehe, any guess what kind of a service station this is?

"Hundekotentsorgung". Do grab your dog´s poo... Hunde (dogs) Kot (poo) entsorgung (disposal) - poo-bags for free.

Students having a monster-BBQ, hell that smoke!

Students btw... See title - we´re on campus and here you find free love since at least 13 years and now it´s behind bars:

Kostenlose Liebe:

You can also get "Lulu - special offer":

And here the sun sets, "Sonnenuntergang":

The arrow is pointing in the wrong direction, no idea why, maybe love isn´t for free after all and Lulu... well, who knows what happened to Lulu?

Why the mesh wire fence?
Well, students had to move in here:

No, really, see?

This is lecture room PK 14.3.

Cause...

Construction work!

And what can you learn here? Yep:

Playing Hopscotch, just like in our condo :-)

This is also campus:

And this:

Certainly with Lions:

On to the house of science with it´s glass-dome:

And from the front in HDR:

And the museum:

Did you know a dino is heavy? This one really sinks in:

We´re not Broome, but we, too, have dinosaur footprints!

Look how brave Ingo is!

Now this Dino-Mum wears a Braunschweig-cap :-)

And we payed our good ole otter a visit, too:

In case you wanna visit us - we live near where the students live.
Don´t ask for the Studentenwohnheim - ask for Affenfelsen, monkey-rock:

Cause no one says Studentenwohnheim ;-)

Happy Sunday, we´re off for another BBQ on the flowery balcony!
