As we hear about a “Migrant, 59, claims eviction from nursing home breaches human rights” - isn’t time we overhauled our Benefits System when it comes to Migrants?

For someone to claim his Human Rights are being breached after moving into a place in July 2024 because he signed a tenancy agreement when he didn’t speak English - how was he given Benefits and interviewed for this place if he couldn’t speak English?

Especially when he says he has been here since 1997!!

For someone being here around 7 years and not speaking English, does this highlight we need processes in place to make sure integration into UK culture is definite requirement through competency tests and examinations within say 2-3 years to be able to claim any form of Benefits?

Should Benefits be only given to you if you, your parents and your grandparents were born in the UK?

Over the centuries, we’ve had many alternatives as to the fuel used to allow us to travel and yet here we are using what is said to be the most dangerous to own health - Petrol or Diesel - when we had/have many more safer and cleaner options from Day One and yet we are going back full circle like it’s greatest invention ever…

However, we seem to ignore the past and really seem hell bent on destroying our past/history when it comes to transport - could this be down to the Motor Manufacturers (OEM’s) this time round instead of the Oil Company’s who didn’t want to see their revenue wiped out over night?

When Automobiles started to appear, we saw they were powered by Coal, Gas, Electric and believe it or not, Horsepower - some had car, van and lorry body’s on wheel but pulled by horses…..

Yet with the emergence of Oil and being able to extract Petrol and Diesel from it, it was seen as a safer and more long term solution due to the distance you were suddenly to cover.

At one point during the 1960’s, the UK had more Electric Vehicles than the rest of the world combined - yes - the world combined!!

So what went wrong? If we had this level of Battery Powered vehicles, why didn’t we progress with it?

Was this down to the pressure of the Oil Companies?

Then, fast forward to the 1980’s and 1990’s, and we started to see the appearance of LPG gas vehicles which were see as being a cheaper and much clearer solution to the dirty Petrol and Diesel vehicles - what a great idea…

But, then just around the turn of the century (sounds strange saying), you had Ford and Vauxhall rolling LPG or LPG Hybrid Cars and Vans - amazing…

However, the Oil Company’s seemed to be very reluctant to have LPG Tanks/Fuelling facilities at their Fuel Stations -strange that…

Was this down to the fact that LPG wasn’t profitable for them?

At half price, what about the revenue that Governments around the world would lose in Taxes?

So many questions but no answers here at all which make sense…

Especially as this was great for the environment because old Petrol Vehicles could be converted to LPG and kept running for years - old classic cars fuelled by LPG how great and cleaner is that?

I’m not saying there is any collusion here but isn’t it strange that this during the early noughties, LPG seemed to disappear and the focus shift to much more cleaner and environmentally friend eco clean Diesel engines - was this the Oil Companies hitting back??

Yet then, during the mid to end of the last decade, it seemed to shift once again back to the fact, that whether eco Petrol or eco Diesel, these engines were just as damaging to the environment as to pre eco engines.

The solution….

Back to Electric Vehicles then???

This all sounds great and with all OEM’s now looking to stop ICE’s from being produced from 2030 to 2035 around the world, we’re having this huge shift to complete clean energy.

Yet, we need the ability to charge them…

However, we are not patient when it comes to waiting plus we are driven by the fact that our car only has range of 50, 100 or 200 miles whilst our petrol or diesel equivalent can go 300 to 500 on a tank…

Wow - we have range anxiety even though the majority of drivers only do the equivalent round trip exceeding 150 miles once a year or once in 3-5 years…

Is this all part of the plan by Oil Companies working with OEM’s to get the 2030 and 2035 deadlines pushed back…

Or even delayed for many many decades ahead?

And all long….

We’ve had hydrogen in the background yet again, why isn’t this being pushed…

Oil Companies or OEM’s?

Not much to say actually but when you come in on a Monday morning find your ceiling down, water everywhere, power tripped out - what can you do...

So, with a week of events and meetings planned - you have to drop them and sort the office out and get back on line...

Whilst you can obviously say, this is where #WFH / #WorkingFromHome or #RemoteWorking can kick in, the issue is around waiting for #Landlords, #InsuranceAssessors and #Builders makes that problematic...

So, as I've write previously here and elsewhere, whatever the situation you are in, you need an #Experience but how do you do it? With the #Video, #Podcast, #Teams and #Zoom section out of action, plus being safe/enticing for visitors and clients, how do you make sure the #VisualExperience is the right one whether as an #InPerson or #OnLine event?

Remember that whatever is happening in and around you, you need to make sure that #UserExperience comes first as whilst #FirstImpressions count, they can also create the #ArtOfConversion - the question for you and you company....

What #Lifestyle and/or #WowFactor can you make out of a #Crisis and can your #CrisisManagement #ActionPlan be a #BlessingInDisguise for you?

As I write this, we are only just over 13 hours in to 2022 and the bombardment has started already….

Yes I know/expect to be hit with marketing emails from company’s that I’ve brought from or from the loyalty card schemes that I’m a member of - all of which I except and accept, but and here is the but…..

What is with newsletters, sales promotions, training courses etc etc etc…..

Already today I’ve had:-

• 14 requests via LinkedIn from people asking me to sign up to their newsletters

• 3 Direct Messages on Instagram offering Leadership Courses (all at the magic 97 number too!!)

• 7 Direct Messages on Instagram for Bitcoin

• 17 discussion groups inclusions via Direct Message on Twitter

and to top it all….

63 email marketing emails for similar things to the above!!!

Well all those that sent them, you’ve been removed, disconnected, blocked, spam reported etc etc….

Despite what your Marketing Coach, Mentor, Self-help Guru and all the books you can read - spamming people on the first day of a new year isn’t going to get you ahead of your competitors and to the front of the queue to attract my attention.

Those people I have just mentioned above, they don’t know what they are talking about BUT they did know how to get you to part with your money via their schemes!!

If you dig deep and actually ask them what they have done, 97 times out of a 100, they haven’t ran a business or started one from scratch. What have done is read a few books, gone on a course or two, heard a talk/been to seminar, watched some YouTube videos, done a webinar etc etc - that’s all!

Just check them and ask yourself, how can they really be a Business Coach if they have never ran, owned or started a business….

NOW THAT’S ALARM BELLS STRAIGHT AWAY!!

So why didn’t you check this out first?

You may be lucky and have got someone to click through on your links but in the majority of cases, all it got you was delete without opening or marked as spam! Plus, like me, disconnected/blocked!
