Deck building game with roguelike elements

HELLCARD is a premium role-playing game developed by Thing Trunk. This roguelike deck-building game is a cooperative experience, allowing you to play in single or multiplayer modes. The graphics for this game were inspired by the first Book of Demons and set in the common universe.

In HELLCARD, you can go down into the paper dungeons by yourself, recruit AI-controlled companions, or party up with other players in co-op mode in an intense fight against the evil hordes of darkness and their leader, the Archdemon. This game supports a maximum of three heroes for cooperative battles against the Archdemon's hordes.

A unique gameplay experiences

Book Of Demons is a dungeon crawler with rogue-like elements, but HELLCARD takes the hack-and-slash gameplay of Book Of Demons in an entirely different direction—this time, you will build a deck of cards that can be used to navigate through each dungeon layer as in roguelikes. You can build your respective deck with more than 300 different cards to eliminate growing numbers of demon lads.

In a single-player mode, the game allows you to have an artificial intelligence companion while exploring dungeons. On the other hand, in multiplayer mode, you can team up with friends or strangers to defeat waves of monsters and bosses by using the game's circular combat system. You will come across enemies that you have encountered before, such as skeletons, demons, and spiders.

Further, in this game, you can play as an archer, warrior, or magician—each with unique active and passive skills implemented in card form. Each player may cast spells or use skills for a maximum of three mana points per turn. However, there’s a problem with the text on some cards, which is too small to read unaided. You have to zoom in with the hotkey to make it out properly.

See for yourself

With its unique blend of cooperative play and roguelike mechanics, HELLCARD promises to be a challenging and exciting addition to the world of deck-builder games. It also incorporates RPG mechanics that will entertain fans of the genre. However, some players might find it difficult to play for long periods due to the font size of texts on some cards when spectating a battle.
