LIFE-Goodstream is an EU-funded project aiming to improve a typical Swedish agricultural stream, that has the typical environmental problems (eutrophication, migration barriers, floods and low biodiversity). During 2016-2023 we have done numerous measures together with the landowners and worked with a holistic view where measures are multi-functional and deliver several ecosystem services simultaneously. The results have been very positive with a 50% reduction in Phosphorous, migration in the whole stream, no more floods and increased biodiversity.
We are now in an After-LIFE stage where we continue to monitor the effects of our measures and disseminate our methods and results.

Our vision is to contribute to the development of an ecologically efficient and financially sound agricultural production. Agricultural economic growth and increase in productivity can be sustainable, and reconciled with environmental goals and directives. Our part will be to minimize losses of nutrients to watercourses and minimize environmental damage caused by agricultural activities or other usage of land.
