I am an Open Source advocate and I truly believe the community can create awesome software. with that said I created and maintain Wheelform, it's a plugin for Craft CMS 3 with a ton of features that is free to use. However, I can only develop the plugin during my free time and it can make it hard to add new features / fix large bugs, as well as maintain a consistent release cycle.

Wheelform will always be Open Source and most importantly FREE as in beer. So if you find Wheelform has saved you tons of development time and save you money (either by not having to purchase premium plugins or saving time creating your own), consider sponsoring to keep Wheelform alive.
