I’m Sergio Ruiz, a designer–engineer focused on bridging the long-standing gap between product design and front-end engineering.

I’m currently dedicating my free time to building UI Guideline v3, a fully rethought version of the platform with a single mission:
to bring clarity, consistency, and reproducible standards to modern UI development.

Today’s ecosystem is fragmented.
Different frameworks, design tools, component libraries, and workflows all introduce their own patterns, naming conventions, accessibility rules, and architectural decisions. This creates inconsistent products, slows teams down, and makes onboarding (both humans and LLMs) unnecessarily complex.

UI Guideline aims to fix that.

My work focuses on:

Codifying universal UI standards that apply regardless of framework or design tool.

Defining component patterns, anatomy, states, and behaviors in a way that both designers and engineers can adopt instantly. Based on the most popular Design Systems / UI Libs such as Material Design, Radix UI, shadcn/ui, Base UI, Ant Design, Carbon Design System, among others.

Providing clear, high-quality documentation and examples that remove ambiguity from UI decision-making.

Creating structures LLMs can reliably interpret, making AI-assisted development more consistent and predictable.

Building open source tools that help teams scale interfaces with fewer dependencies, fewer opinions, and fewer obstacles.

With the support of sponsors, I can invest more time into expanding the platform, maintaining the open-source ecosystem around it, and accelerating my long-term goal of making UI Guideline a reference standard for UI teams and AI-driven workflows globally.
