The HEXBOX is a great new Ghost Box! It has the unique feature of being able to skip all the radio stations so that your scanning concentrates on the white noise. This means you can be sure of that the voice coming through does not belong to a radio DJ. You have eight different sweep speeds to choose between from 50 to 400 ms. You also have forward and backward sweep options for both FM and AM bands. Bluetooth function allows you to have your HEXBOX act as a speaker, perfect if you use ghost hunting apps.
How Does It Work?
The HEXBOX features three scanning modes: Standard mode, Channel Hop mode, and Channel Skip mode. We're especially excited about the Channel Skip Mode since it omits the radio stations that the Hexbox discovers when it does its initial station scan when you power it on.
Standard scanning scans all stations. Channel Hop mode hops from active station to active station.
You can if you want to disconnect the antenna.
The word bank mode plays short audio files randomly from a micro-SD card (not included). To use that function, you record your own MP3 or WAV audio files and insert it into the Hexbox and switch to the Wordbank mode. Use your imagination to what words you want to record. You could even record phrases or music and various sounds (ex: bell, whistle, different keyboard notes, morse alphabet, car horn, animal sounds etc.). Experiment and see if the files play, supposedly randomly, actually make sense in relation to the activity at the site investigated.
How To Use
Press and hold the Power button. The HEXBOX will start initial scanning mode- keep the antenna extended and it will find all the radio stations and calibrate to skip those when you scan in Channel Skip Mode.
Choose the scanning mode of your choice. Choose AM or FM band. Push the Scan Forward or Scan Reverse button to start scanning. Choose your preferred scanning speed. Adjust the Reverb to your liking. A lot of investigators like some reverb since they feel it makes the EVPs easier to comprehend - to hear them more clearly. Choose Antenna Disconnect or Connect mode.
