Hi, I'm Evan (aka GeopJr), a software engineer, FOSS maintainer, and security researcher from Greece 🇬🇷. I’ve been passionate about technology for as long as I can remember, and I’ve spent the last 8 years building, breaking, and improving software across diverse platforms, ecosystems and communities 🌐.
I love contributing to open source and building projects from scratch; from LLVM-based programming languages, custom Android ROMs and iOS tweaks to fully client-side E2E encrypted tools and decentralized social media platforms. Along the way, I document and share my experiences, writing blog posts and giving talks on software development, open source, and technology in general.
As a GNOME Foundation member since 2020, I’ve contributed to Linux desktop applications, libraries, and tools, helping improve usability, accessibility, and reliability across the ecosystem. Collaborating with communities and fellow developers has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
The security research experience I’ve gained in the open has proven useful in multiple contexts, including unexpected ways.
Beyond code, I’m driven by ethical technology. I focus on building software that respects users, supports privacy, empowers activists, and addresses climate change. I enjoy tackling complex problems, learning deeply, and turning ideas into real-world solutions that make a difference. I'm also very passionate about music 🧑🎤
