Lore: Eldritch India

In the history of humankind, a few cultures were more closely tied to the occult than all others. Ancient India is one of these cultures. For today’s lore, we’ll look into a few texts discussing this in-universe. In this text, we’ll dive straight into the possibility, that at some point a cult devoted to the Elder Gods existed and even found acceptance among the mundane people. Of course, a heavily distorted version of it, as the truth is poisonous to the human mind.

Mechanics: Fundamentals – Extra – Oft Asked Questions

There are three questions people keep asking, and I feel I should write down answers for them. These questions are not stupid in their own right, but they are the kind of question that only makes sense if you don’t think about the answer. So, if you are reading this by some chance, you might want to check if you can figure out what the answer might be before reading mine. Mechanics: Fundamentals – Part 0 – The Information Game

Let’s take a moment to talk about information-based games. In a way, every game is based on information. The input of sensory experiences that is then transformed into output controlling the game. Lore: Libro Inferorum

There was a time when the Secretum was deeply interwoven with the Catholic Church, to this day, the guild’s HQ remains located in the Vatican, or at least dimensionally adjacent to it. Older texts sometimes present themselves as religious and it was indeed common for mages of the past to be religious… though the god they worshipped was not exactly the same god as Christianity’s. Note that this text is annotated by a much later author.

Lore: A Modern Day Haunting

Not everything that acts like a ghost and haunts people is actually a ghost, sometimes there are other creatures that act in much the same way. The presented incident could look like a ghost haunting or some kind of demonic curse, when presented to a Norma, but to mages the supernatural is a matter of science, not superstition. Magical practices are even regulated by law, to at least reduce the number of dangerous events such as this.
