The Winter Seed Sowing Workshop was a great success! Hosted by the Grass Lake Restoration Team, we had ~20 people attend a workshop at the Kenny Rec Center on Saturday, January 17, 2026 to learn about planting native seeds in the winter. Participants were each given an instructional zine (also available as a free PDF download) and 5 milk jugs to fill with dirt and native seeds, with hopes that we’ll be able to plant them on the south-eastern shore of Grass Lake during spring 2026.

Box Making Workshop with Erin Maurelli at Minnesota Center for Book Arts

Over the past few months, I’ve taken a number of workshops with the support of the McKnight Book Arts Fellowship. These have included, “Box Building for Beginners,” with Erin Maurelli at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts (pictured above), a “Risograph 101” class at Workshop for Independent Publishing (pictured below), and an online watercolor course via Case for Making focused on the “Floralscapes of Piet Oudolf” with Claire Wilson (pictured below).

I’m looking forward to doing a few more before my fellowship year is complete!
