ו-method guideCategories.list הוצאו משימוש ב-9 בספטמבר 2020.
משאב guideCategory מזהה קטגוריה שמוקצה על ידי YouTube באמצעות אלגוריתם על סמך התוכן של הערוץ או על סמך אינדיקטורים אחרים, כמו מידת הפופולריות של הערוץ. הרשימה דומה לקטגוריות של סרטונים, עם ההבדל הבא: מעלה הסרטון יכול להקצות קטגוריה של סרטון, אבל רק YouTube יכול להקצות קטגוריה של ערוץ.
