يحدّد مورد guideCategory فئة يعيّنها YouTube باستخدام الخوارزميات استنادًا إلى محتوى القناة أو مؤشرات أخرى، مثل مدى رواج القناة. تتشابه هذه القائمة مع فئات الفيديوهات، ولكن يمكن للقائم بتحميل الفيديو تحديد فئة له، في حين أنّه يمكن لمنصة YouTube فقط تحديد فئة للقناة.
