Good, affordable advice

We offer a number of different models, and we can tailor these to your needs. Just drop us a line, and we will get back to you.

What we can't give you is a menu of prices, since no two people have ever asked us for exactly the same thing, and many clients do not really know what they want or need until they talk it through (which is fine).

We don't aim to be the cheapest – we value our expertise and extensive experience — but we expect to compare very well with other firms with comparable expertise.

We operate on a "no surprises" basis.

If we think we just cannot do something in a way which makes economic sense (that the cost would outweigh the discernable benefit), we will say so as soon as we can.

If we can offer you a range of options - cheaper options usually mean you accepting more risk, which might be appropriate for you in context - then we will.

Fixed fee projects

One project. One price. No hidden "extras".

We want to give you financial certainty, and we think that the best way to do that is for you to say what you want, and we price it up.

If it is a relatively simple piece of work, we can probably agree one price and date for the whole piece of work. For things which are more complicated, we can break it down into stages and agree a price and a delivery date for each stage.

The price that is fixed for the scope of work. No surprises, and no hidden "extras". If the scope changes, that's fine — we'll discuss what you need, and re-quote.

Subscriptions

Your lawyer, on demand

Want "your lawyer", but worried that you can't afford one, or that you just don't need one full-time?

That's where our subscriptions come in. You purchase a fixed number of hours per month in advance (typically, in blocks of five hours, starting at 20 hours or more per month), on a "use it or lose it" basis, and just pick up the phone or send us an email when you need advice.

You get the benefit of financial certainty based on a discounted price, and the comfort that the support is there when you need it, from someone who knows your business.

Every month, you get a detailed breakdown of exactly how you used your time.

Per hour worked

Lastly, we can work on an hourly basis, where we simply bill for the number of hours or parts of hours that we work for you.

Typically, this is where we cannot offer a fixed fee, or it does not make sense to do so (e.g. scoping the work would take longer than doing it).

We will do our best to give you an indication of likely time and cost, based on the information we have available. If it looks like something will take longer than we estimated (which can happen, especially if facts change, or new information comes to light, for example), we will let you know as soon as we can, and get your approval. We might not be able to predict exactly what the bill might be, but we believe firmly in a "no surprises" principle.

We keep a record of every minute that we work for you, and send you a detailed timesheet with each invoice.
