Breaking the Cycle
Courage Connection, in partnership with the Champaign County Community Coalition, is proud to present Breaking the Cycle, a signature community town hall focused on addressing teen and youth violence in Champaign County. The event will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at CityView, located at the Illinois Terminal in Champaign, IL.
Breaking the Cycle will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders—including students, families, educators, service providers, advocates, and impacted community members—for an honest and in-depth dialogue on the complex factors contributing to teen relationship violence. Through facilitated discussion and shared perspectives, participants will examine the impact of relationship violence on individuals, families, and the broader community, while exploring evidence-based strategies for prevention and healing.
This special town hall event is designed to elevate lived experience, address root causes of relationship violence, and highlight holistic, prevention-based approaches already underway across Champaign County. In addition, the discussion will help identify gaps in services and collaboration, with the goal of strengthening community-wide efforts to increase effectiveness and long-term impact.
Breaking the Cycle is about more than awareness—it’s about collective responsibility and action. By bringing cross-sector partners and community members together, we can move toward meaningful solutions that promote safety, connection, and healing for our youth.
Community members are encouraged to attend, participate, and add their voices to this critical conversation. Together, we can break the cycle of violence and build a safer, more connected future for young people in Champaign County.
