Hey there! I go by JP, and I'm software engineer extremely passionate about open source software, linux, accessibility, decentralization, and the indieweb.
I have a passion for systems languages as they simply feel more intentful. C++ was the first language I learned extensively, but now I went all in on Rust and there's no going back.
I'm also extremely invested in Linux and its wider ecosystem. The passion remaining in this space brings back my tech excitement. It should go without saying, but I'm very dissatisfied with the current state of tech and AI-hype, and I hope we can all step up and do better.
I love socializing with like-minded people so feel free to drop me a line any time by email or on Signal @jeanpaul.01

This is my personal website I've set up, it isn't a technical showcase at all, it's a sandbox for me to do creative things I feel like, my little corner of the web.
beret
This was a Rust side-project I worked on while reading the Rust book in parallel. I really like CLIs in general and wanted to create my own, so I decided to convert a bash script I had that set up my Fedora installs. This CLI will ask for sudo permissions and change all sorts of things on your system, so you really should not run this on your machine unless it's a fresh install. The CLI also takes config files to modify the setup to your liking. It was last tested on Fedora 42 but I'll polish it again soon.

This is a website I've developed for a friend's personal clinic as an excuse to learn Astro, and I've been obsessed with Astro since. I'm proud of the code of this repository, but it isn't open to contributions except in the form of rendering or accessibility issues that I might have missed.
advent of code
Admittedly, there aren't that many solutions in this repository yet, but this is intentionally pinned for me to remember how much the advent of code helped me actually start learning Rust. I want to eventually complete all past and future puzzles, but just maybe not during December.
