Great idea! Somebody would have to test and code-review these, as they are potentially changing behavior and usability of the entire site.

Please note that users are already developing themes for Codeberg and using workarounds to apply them to the page: https://codeberg.org/nokoru/codeberg-arc-blue

We should consider to officially include them!

How are the themes deployed? Can they just be included in Codeberg's Gitea mirror, may be even as some kind of git submodule so they remain in their own repos or forks on Codeberg and can be updated individually?

I like this idea. Both is possible: make it part of the codeberg/gitea repo, or join them in build-deploy-gitea.
