I learned programming in high school for 5 years, but they never taught us web development, so I actually self-taught myself HTML/CSS (and later Javascript) by playing around with tumblr themes.
Out of highschool I got a job as a frontend web developer, at which I stayed for 4 years and learned a lot. Then I quit because I became bored.
my process.
I code in VSCode until I’m forced to switch to tumblr’s editor. In VSCode I use SCSS, an autoprefixer, linters, and formatting plugins to make my life easier.
I test my themes in most modern browsers and on mobile devices.

This is Holly, a stray cat that decided to become my cat this summer. What I didn’t know: She was pregnant. She gave birth to five kittens in my apartment, so I now have to raise them.
As an unemployed uni student, the expenses have been rough for me. Currently they eat almost 10 packages of wet food a day, plus dry food, cat litter, and of course the expensive vet appointments. I have spent over 400€ on them since October. I also will have to get Holly spayed, which will cost 200€. I appreciate ANY help, no matter how small!!
I just made a little tool to easily create lists of tumblr tags for your pinned post or custom page! Basically all you have to do is enter a list of your tags in plaintext (e.g. tag1, tag2, tag3) and it outputs a list with the links added on. You then can copy and paste it into a post/page and the links will work. I used it for my own tag list here.
fyi, i added a little warning in case someone tries to have a tag list with more than 100 tags, because apparently tumblr doesn’t allow more than 100 links in a single post! (Thought it might still work for posts created before this limitation.)
hi guys, i’m alive!! i’ve kinda been ignoring tumblr coding because i was so annoyed at all the dumb changes happening to tumblr themes. i stil love coding though! i have a neocities website now (here is my profile if anyone is interested).
i kinda feel like making tumblr themes again.. but i’m totally out of the loop, so it will take some time for me to find a good base code and learn how to deal with npf posts.
i’ll also have to check if my old themes still work and maybe update or archive them. for now i’ve only updated some info on my own blog and changed my icon! oh well, stay tuned for more updates!

hi! i was wondering what theme you currently use for your blog? i want my posts to show at the bottom (like your blog) rather than to the side like most other themes/pages tend to, so i was wondering how to do this? thank you :)
hi there! i made my theme myself and haven’t published it. but the type of theme you’re looking for - i think - is just “header”/“topbar”, you can find some here. (just ignore those which also have a sidebar).

optional “show archived” checkbox (this is just another category that you can put your tag groups into, to keep old/unused tags out of the visitor’s view while still making them available)
my first blog theme in over a year! it has big posts (600px) which are great for image-heavy blogs. note:
disable the blogroll tab if you are using this theme on a sideblog (because blogrolls only work on your main blog)!
Hi! I'm having trouble changing the images on the playlist theme! I tried uploading my images to different websites to get image urls, but they're still not showing on the page. How did you get urls for your images? :)
But here’s a secret tip: I always just upload them into a tumblr post, save that post as a draft, copy the image addresses and paste them somewhere so i can use them later, and then delete the draft. Works like a charm!

hey thank you so much for your dashboard themes!!! i've installed the "dark" theme, and as usual, every other line of a chat post has a different background from the original post (every other line is a light grey on the normal site instead of white). however, it appears that the "every other line" background colour is unchanged? this wouldn't be an issue normally but since the dark theme is black with pale text and the alternate bg is pale grey it's hard to read. is there a way to fix this?
