“Ian was the Lead Developer on a complex Epic which we worked closely on for several months during my time at Axonify. He is an exceptional team leader who takes the time to recognize the efforts of his team while bringing patience and kindness to every interaction. Throughout the project there were several shifts due to changing business priorities and requirements which Ian quickly and happily adapted to. His thorough commitment to quality ensured that the solutions built functioned flawlessly and delivered exceptional value to users. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Ian again and recommend him to any organization looking for a highly-skilled development leader.”

As a SuiteImpact Ambassador, I organized outreach events to encourage Netsuite employees to help our community. Projects included food drives, clothing drives, charity fundraising events, outdoor volunteer work, and even a slow-cooker class and equipment giveaway, with a curriculum designed to aid families experiencing financial stress. At the Arts Fund I spearheaded the use of a standardized rubric for grading applications, implemented strategies for removing bias, developed the implementation of smart algorithms as an aid in determining grant recipients, and I was closely involved in transforming the application system from a cumbersome multi-stage manual process delivered on paper into a single-stage online application in 2020.

Science and Technology
Co-Founded and co-organized a monthly series of Javascript meetups, with co-conspirator Ned Kahvo. Each event featured a speaker on some topic of interest to front-end development. Occasionally had to fill in for missing special-guests, so I always had something in my back pocket ready to go. Pizza was served.

The Front Edge
Co-founder, Co-Organizer
-To fill a need, I started up a tech group dedicated to front-end web technology. We met monthly to stay on the cutting edge of web browser technology. Along with co-organizer Ned Kahvo, I managed every aspect of the group's activities, from booking speakers, emceeing the events, and managing financial contributions from sponsors. I also had a few presentations ready to go when I needed to fill in for a guest speaker who couldn't get a babysitter, came down with a cold, etc.
