In the wake of a stabbing attack on a train in Cambridgeshire which left 10 people hospitalised, dozens of petitions have been launched on Change.org calling for the legalisation of pepper spray and other non-lethal self-defence sprays.
Since the attack, over 30 petitions have been started by people across the UK demanding the government reconsider current laws that make carrying pepper spray illegal, with most urging policymakers to legalise or regulate non-lethal sprays, introduce age checks and background screening, and ensure clear rules on sale and use.
