My Promise To You

BurgeonLab will remain ad-free and I don’t plan to monetize the site. If you enjoy the content and found it useful, a small tip (once-off or recurring) is greatly appreciated. Any direct donations will go on to cover the costs of running my blogs: hosting, domain renewal, hosted Git services, etc. Thank you!

Two ways to show your support:

  1. Direct contributions with Liberapay or Ko-fi1
  2. Using my links

Donation Platforms

Both support once-off or recurring donations, no sign-up required.

Liberapay is an open-source, non-profit organisation for donations and crowdfunding.

Ko-fi is a popular platform used by creators.

I only share referral or affiliate links to services that I personally use and vouch for. These links usually offer a deal or discount for you (the customer), while I (the referrer) get a commission (flat rate or % of your purchase) or “credits” to use on the respective platform. Thanks again for using my links.

Tip: The image banners are links.

Bunny.net

Bunny.net banner

I use Bunny.net (an EU company) for my static site hosting needs with Bunny Storage + Bunny CDN. Paying for a budget-friendly static host is much more flexible and powerful compared to hosting for free on GitHub Pages. Plus their CDN was very easy to configure compared to Cloudflare (which I find quite confusing).

I’ve written about using Bunny for this blog if you’re interested:

Note

Bunny.net would be the best link to check out as it can directly help with the hosting of this site! Thanks. 🥰🙏

Tuta

Get one extra month if you subscribe to Tuta for one year (12 months/annual plan)

Been a Tuta (aka Tutanota) user for a few years. I use their E2EE email, calendar, and contacts. They’ve been slowly improving and is much more reliable now. I use Tuta services in lieu of Google Calendar and Contacts, and manage all my custom domain emails with Tuta Mail.

Hostinger

Get a 20% discount

I started my blogging journey with Hostinger’s multi-year web hosting deal (it was a bargain). With their managed WordPress setup, it’s been reliable for me—good for starting out and experimenting. I prefer static sites though, so I’ll probably not renew when my subscription ends.

Private Internet Access

Get 30 days extra for free

Been a long time user of PIA VPN, handy for bypassing geo-blocks or peace of mind when connecting to dodgy Wi-Fi during travels. (If the link doesn’t work, try momentarily turning off your Ad Blocker, thanks.)

iHerb

I’ve shopped at iHerb since 2019 and they’re very reliable in terms of product quality and shipping (to Hong Kong at least). I mainly buy supplements and one of my favourite food brands, Bob’s Red Mill, from iHerb.

YesStyle

Enjoy ’extra discounts’ if you use my Rewards Code: UNAHTA

Around 2022, I started improving my skincare routine; switching to Asian skincare products instead of Western brands. I found the best place to buy Korean skincare products was at YesStyle, which I believe is a company from Hong Kong actually! I’ve only bought skincare products from them; but they seem to sell other goods likes clothes and health supplements, which I don’t have experience with. The shopping experience is really good, snappy web UI (better than iHerb IMO) and shipping is just as fast as iHerb. My favourite Korean brand is Beauty of Joseon!
