If you’re wondering why Sinphony is subtitled “A Clubhouse Horror Anthology”, it’s because was conceived on the audio-only social app Clubhouse. While it seems like an odd thing to hype, I’m sure that seemed like a great idea at the time the project was conceived and Clubhouse was being called the next big thing. But now that everyone has moved on to the next next big thing it seems dated and gimmicky.
As for the film itself, from a technical standpoint, the segments that make up Sinphony are all solid. There aren’t a lot of effects and apart from a possessed baby that’s obviously a doll with red eyes, there’s nothing embarrassingly bad. Even the CGI is decent for shorts that were obviously shot on a budget.
Decided to give this horror anthology a try as its something different from mainstream horror films.
This anthology is made up of a compilation of horror shorts from various unknown directors. There's nothing truly genius going on though a couple of the shorts are pretty good some are just a bit bland.
The first short Mothers Love and the fourth short The Keeper were definitely the standouts of the anthology, thankfully there's no absolutely rubbish shorts within the anthology some are just a bit unimaginative but that's just personal preference.
a fun anthology with a nice ending that connects to a couple of the shorts
some stronger than others, but a series I could get behind if they did another volume
As one of the creators of this film, I love each segment for how it is unique and for the love and care put into every frame. It's amazing how no two of the shorts are alike and do not repeat the feel or content to any real extent. How some are actually fun and still somewhat terrifying in the existential predicaments the characters find themselves in. Also, in making the film we have formed an amazing international horror family that I hope to stay in touch with and look forward to further collaborations with in the future. Looking back over the last couple of years, it's amazing how being in one Clubhouse room at the right time has changed the course of our lives for the better and helped us through the dark isolating slog of COVID. Thanks to all who view and review our film, we appreciate you taking the time!
