Keep in Touch with CFJWJ's Global Liberation Committee
As the challenges faced by our communities in Central Florida mirror those of workers across the globe, the imperative for a unified response has never been greater. This is why Central Florida Jobs with Justice is proud to announce our Global Liberation Committee. Rooted in the understanding that the liberation of working people is an interconnected struggle, our committee brings together member groups like Florida Student Power Network, Florida Access Network, and the Farmworker Association of Florida to bind us in our shared pursuit of justice.
The exploitation of workers is not confined to our borders. American corporations often seek to maximize profit by taking advantage of cheap labor abroad, creating environments of low-wage or even no-wage work to extract resources that bolster the US economy. This exploitation is part of a broader pattern of oppression that extends to geopolitical conflicts, including the US' role in the ongoing genocide in Palestine and the crisis in Haiti.
In response to these grave transgressions, Central Florida Jobs with Justice not only calls for a permanent ceasefire in Palestine and an end to US intervention in Haiti, but fervently supports the self-determination of all people globally. Our coalition believes that true justice can only be achieved when all people have the power to shape their own destinies without external interference or oppression. Moreover, Central Florida Jobs with Justice stands in unwavering solidarity with the Gaza Solidarity Encampments being organized on college campuses across the country.
Whether it's the fight against apartheid and settler-colonialism in Palestine or the ongoing crisis in Haiti, these issues act as a through line between the self-determination of workers and struggles across the globe. If you would like to get involved with the Global Liberation Committee, we will be meeting every third Monday of the month from 6:00-7:30pm. As a coalition, this committee allows us to engage unions and working people in Central Florida to see themselves as part of an international working class.
Together we can establish a world where solidarity has no borders.
