Position Summary The Program Director is a strategic and visionary leader responsible for guiding the design, execution, and evaluation in compliance of Future of Us’ programs and community campaigns. This role is central to advancing our mission to cultivate bold Asian organizers and ensure that young Asian Americans are politically engaged, represented, and empowered to lead.
The Program Director oversees three core program areas, including our community campaign initiatives, and directly manages up to four program staff. This includes coaching team members’ professional growth, setting performance expectations, and ensuring accountability to program goals and organizational outcomes.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director serves as a senior leader and key thought partner, shaping long-term program and campaign strategy while ensuring operational excellence in implementation. The role requires the ability to translate strategic vision into measurable impact, strengthen team performance, and align programmatic work with our mission, values, and community commitments.
This position demands a balance of big-picture thinking, people leadership, and disciplined execution, alongside a deep commitment to youth empowerment, advocacy, and community building within Asian American communities.
Salary & Benefits This is a full-time 40 hours/week, exempt, in-person position with some evenings and weekends required. Salary is $65,280 - $74,460 based on experience. Future Of Us upholds pay equity and economic justice through transparent compensation practices, cost-of-living adjustments every two years, and annual raises of 1–3% based on performance and budget. Benefits include 80% employer-paid employee only health, dental, vision, PTO, STD, LTD, HSA, Life Insurance, Retirement plan, organization breaks and 10 paid holidays.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Strategy
Set and drive the long-term strategic vision for all programmatic and community campaign work, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and objectives.
Oversee the development and execution of annual community campaigns, holding full accountability for measurable outcomes, voter engagement targets, key policies and program impact.
Establish strategic priorities across issue advocacy, base-building, and organizing models, ensuring data-informed and effective community-driven approaches.
Define and enforce performance metrics for field operations, including voter engagement goals, volunteer activation benchmarks, and leadership development outcomes.
Ensure program implementation adheres to nonpartisan compliance standards and reflects best practices in community organizing and youth civic engagement.
Oversee the development of impact-driven communications that articulate campaign goals, progress, and outcomes to the public, stakeholders and partners.
Department & Staff Leadership
Direct and manage the Program Department, ensuring compliance that includes staffing structure, resource allocation, operational systems, and budget oversight.
Supervise and develop up to four program staff, setting clear performance expectations and holding team members accountable to established metrics and timelines.
Cultivate a results-oriented, equitable, and collaborative team culture grounded in shared accountability and continuous improvement.
Lead department planning processes, ensuring alignment between strategic goals, daily operations, and organizational growth objectives.
Evaluation, Learning & Organizational Impact
Design and institutionalize evaluation frameworks that measure short-, mid-, and long-term program impact, including quarterly and annual performance benchmarks.
Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to assess program effectiveness and refine organizing strategies.
Present strategic insights, performance reports, and impact evaluations to senior leadership, board members, and external stakeholders.
Integrate participatory research and community feedback into program evolution and long-term strategy.
Community Engagement & External Leadership
Serve as a senior representative of the organization in coalitions, partnerships, public forums, and media engagements.
Build and steward strategic relationships with community leaders, partner organizations, and key stakeholders to advance campaign objectives and strengthen political infrastructure.
Amplify the voices, priorities, and leadership of young Asian Americans in local advocacy spaces.
Cross-Functional & Organizational Leadership
Partner closely with the Executive Director to shape organizational strategy, campaign positioning, and long-term growth planning.
Lead cross-departmental initiatives that advance institutional priorities and strengthen operational coherence.
Provide leadership on special initiatives that require cross-functional coordination and strategic oversight.

Must haves for the position Demonstrated commitment to racial equity, youth empowerment, and social justice. Proven experience in program curriculum design, management, community organizing, advocacy, or related fields. Strong leadership skills with experience managing and coaching teams and fostering collaborative work environments. Ability to design, implement, and evaluate programs with measurable impact. Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to balance vision with operational execution. Familiarity with data management, evaluation tools, and participatory research methods.

Position Summary
Future Of Us is hiring a team of canvassers to engage with our base of young Asian voters ages 18 - 35 on various topics including but not limited to elections, immigration, and elected leaders. The canvassing team uses a predictive dialer called GetThru, and reaches hundreds of Asian Voters every week, asking a variety of questions and ensuring they are equipped to vote. Canvassers may sit together, but dial their own one-on-one calls to Asian voters. Door-knocking may be a part of efforts to inform voters as needed. In November, the canvasser schedule changes to some weekend/daily shifts, with opportunities for additional hours.
Hourly Pay and Benefits
Future Of Us has a tiered pay scale ranging from hourly to salary positions that are based on Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) every other year, and pay equity and economic justice. Pay equity is the principle of providing equal compensation to employees who perform comparable work, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, or other protected characteristics. It ensures that compensation is based on job responsibilities and performance, without bias or discrimination. Economic Justice creates opportunities for all to succeed regardless of sex, race, age, disability, color, creed, national origin, religion, or genetic information. This position is a 12 hours/week part-time, onsite, non-exempt position, including some evenings and weekends. Benefits include: annual accrual ESST (Earned Sick and Safe Time) hours and eligible Simple IRA Plan. The pay range for this position is $20 per hour, based on canvassing hours that are related to educational and advocacy on social issues through phone calls and door-knocking.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
Completing weekly canvassing shifts, and meeting weekly goals
Engaging in conversations with our base, and gauging level of awareness of issues and challenges that our community faces in regards to the specific issues
Collecting and recording data from conversations in trackers
Providing feedback, strategies, and troubleshooting efforts to achieve best approaches to community engagement, and achieving team goals
Sustaining a positive teamwork, and peer to peer learning environment
Shadowing, being shadowed, and coaching new canvassers during their training period when new staff or volunteers arrive
Meeting with the Field Manager as necessary to best understand needs, support and expectations.
Must haves for the position
At least 1 year of experience in canvassing, community organizing, teamwork and /or customer service and data entry
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment, taking ownership, and initiative with minimal direction.
Experience in meeting and interacting with new people, and people of all backgrounds and identities
Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to articulate progress, concerns, and recommendations in a concise and timely manner
Strong organizational skills
Nice haves for the position
Fluent and able to have a conversation on the local election in the following Asian ethnic languages: Karen, and Hmong
Experience in utilizing Voter Action Network, GetThru (Thrutalk, Thrutext), and Google Suite/Doc
Experience in navigating difficult conversations and accomplishing weekly team goals
Excellent interpersonal, team building, and problem-solving skills.
