[SIGN-UP FORM] Decriminalize Abortion Now Network
In the Philippines, abortion remains criminalized under the Revised Penal Code, placing women, girls, and pregnant people at risk of unsafe procedures, stigma, and discrimination. This punitive framework does not prevent abortions from happening, it only makes them more dangerous and inaccessible. Decriminalizing abortion is essential to protect health, uphold human rights, and ensure that all individuals can make decisions about their bodies and futures with dignity and safety.

To advance this urgent call for reform, it is vital to establish a strong and coordinated network of advocates. A united front enables us to share knowledge, amplify voices, and build collective strategies that can effectively challenge harmful laws and shift public discourse. Through collaboration, we can strengthen the movement for reproductive justice and push for meaningful, lasting change.

If you share this vision and agree with our Basis of Unity, we invite you to sign up and be part of this network. By joining, you contribute to a growing community committed to advancing the decriminalization of abortion in the Philippines and ensuring that the rights and well-being of all are respected.

BASIS OF UNITY FOR THE DECRIMINALIZE ABORTION NETWORK

We believe that no one should die nor be treated as a criminal for making decisions about their own pregnancy. Abortion care is a healthcare issue, not a crime.

Our Principles

  1. Human dignity: Every person deserves to make decisions about their own body without fear of punishment, shame, or violence.

  2. Equality and justice: Criminalizing abortion care deepens inequality as it disproportionately harms women, girls, and marginalized communities.

  3. Health and safety: Evidence shows that restricting access to abortion care does not stop pregnant persons from inducing abortion–it only makes it unsafe. Decriminalizing abortion saves lives.

  4. Compassion and care: Laws should reflect empathy and understanding, not punishment.

Our Vision

A society where abortion care is guided by compassion, human rights, and science–not by fear, stigma, or punishment.

Our Call

  1. No one should be imprisoned for making personal healthcare decisions.

  2. The government has a duty to protect and uphold the health, dignity, and rights of Filipinos.

  3. Decriminalization of abortion is a necessary step towards reducing unsafe abortion and saving lives.

  4. The government must remove abortion penalties from the Revised Penal Code.

Our Commitment

  1. Speaking the truth: Abortion care  is a matter of health, dignity, and rights.

  2. Solidarity: No one should face stigma, fear, or punishment for seeking care.

  3. Action: Push for laws that put compassion and justice at the core.

I/We agree with this basis of unity. *
