This is a new transition for many students at Fresno State. The COSS Linked Peer Mentor Program is developed with the goal to get students more engaged and involved in their college. Our program is voluntary for both participants, and we pair peers that are closely related in major. Our Peer Mentors believe the more students get involved with their department’s academic and extra-curricular activities, the more prepared they are for their junior/senior year opportunities and beyond. If you have questions or concerns related to the program, please email Coordinator Joseph Escoto, jescoto@csufresno.edu.

Peer Mentee Expectations: *

1. Student must be a major or minor in the College of Social Sciences.

2.Peer Mentor Check-ins; twice a month in person, Zoom, Skype, email, phone, google chat

3. Be on time to mentor meeting. (Mentor will leave session after later period of 15 minutes)

4. Attend (TWO) COSS or University Webinars, Events, or Workshops

5. Contact Peer Mentor to make him or her aware of any obstacles, which might hinder academic success.

6. Attend any workshops or meetings (faculty or support service) that the Peer Mentor has assigned during check-ins that may help you reach your personal goal, or get you prepared for the job market.
