BDAI appoints Mark Henwood as Associate Director. BDAI appoints Mark Henwood to the team as Associate Director. Mark brings over 23 years of experience in Architecture and will lead BDAI’s design team in Sydney. He holds a master’s degree in architecture, is a registered architect with the Australian Institute of Architects and a registered design practitioner with the NSW Building Commission. Before joining BDAI, Mark led design teams for Watson Young Architects in Sydney and BHI Architects in both Sydney and Shanghai. Mark offers project leadership expertise across a variety of sectors aligned with BDAI’s project portfolio, his complementary experience will add value to BDAI’s clients and design team. In his role as Associate Director, a key focus of Mark’s will be to lead the day-to-day operations of BDAI’s Sydney practice. Mark will be responsible for leading projects, nurturing relationships with key accounts and new clients, and developing BDAI’s team of talented designers. BDAI is delighted to welcome Ayrine Kwan, Senior Designer, Danen Poovin, Designer, Grace Kim, Designer, Kimya Sokhansanj, Senior Designer, Seugnét Viljoen, Associate, and Vahid Salimi, BIM Manager to the Sydney and Melbourne teams. Ayrine Kwan, Senior Designer. Melbourne. Ayrine holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in architecture, bringing over 27 years of design experience across transport, mixed-use, retail, health, and education projects. As a Senior Designer, her extensive expertise will be extremely valuable to the Melbourne team. She will oversee all design and documentation across various projects, ensuring the highest standards are maintained. Danen Poovin, Designer. Sydney. Danen is a registered Architect who offers the team over 12 years of industry experience working across residential, education, health and commercial projects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural science and a master’s degree in architecture. Danen is a great addition, BDAI’s clients will benefit from his versatile design experience and professional excellence. Kimya Sokhansanj, Senior Designer. Sydney. Kimya is a Senior Designer with 14 years of professional experience. She holds a bachelor's degree in architecture and has held roles as a Designer, Project Lead, and BIM Specialist. Her project portfolio spans hospitality, commercial, education, residential, and aged care sectors. Kimya’s experience aligns with BDAI’s specialist areas, making her a significant addition to the team. Grace Kim, Designer. Sydney. Grace brings over 9 years of experience as an Interior Designer, particularly focusing on retail and hotel projects. She holds a bachelor's degree in interior design. Grace will contribute value to BDAI’s clients, leveraging her hands-on experience with similar projects. Initially, she will support our project leads with design and documentation across various retail projects. Seugnét Viljoen, Associate and Project Lead. Sydney. Seugnét is a registered architect with the NSW Architects Registration Board, holding a bachelor's degree with honours and a master's degree in architecture. She offers over 15 years of design experience, including transport infrastructure, urban renewal, landscape design, public architecture, landmark projects, civic and library projects, aged care, health, and commercial projects. Recently, she has focused on large-scale mixed-use residential projects and apartment design. As an Associate, Seugnét will lead key projects and provide insights regarding 3D modelling. Vahid Salimi, BIM Manager. Sydney. Vahid holds a bachelor’s in architecture and a master’s in construction project management. With 19 years of experience, including 10 years leading BIM initiatives, he brings expertise in BIM design across schools, transport, retail, and residential projects. Vahid will lead BDAI’s BIM efforts, ensuring the highest standards in collaboration with the design team.
