Dear Black Women Small Business Owners of Baltimore,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. My name is Dr. s. Rasheem. I am a Researcher  passionate about empowering and amplifying the voices of Black women entrepreneurs. I am reaching out to extend a heartfelt invitation to participate in a study called “Minding Her Business: The Entrepreneurial Journey of Black Women in Baltimore” . The study aims to elevate the remarkable stories, lived experiences, trials, and triumphs of Black women like you who own and operate small businesses in Baltimore.

As an integral part of Baltimore's vibrant and diverse community, I understand the significant contributions Black women entrepreneurs make to both the local economy and society. Your strength, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit serve as an inspiration to us all, and it is crucial that your narratives and achievements are celebrated and shared.

The primary objective of this study is to shed light on the unique challenges faced by Black women small business owners and the innovative strategies you have employed to overcome them. We aim to create a comprehensive and authentic account of your journey, showcasing the pivotal role you play in shaping Baltimore's economic landscape.

The study will be conducted through recorded interviews and quick demographic surveys, allowing you to share your experiences in a manner most comfortable to you. You’ll also have the option to participate in the “Minding Her Business TeleSummit” where you can share your expertise and promote your business. 

Rest assured that all information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and respect. Additionally, your participation will remain entirely voluntary, and you may withdraw at any point during the study without any consequences.

Upon the completion of the study, I plan to publish the findings in reputable journals and use the insights to create resources and programs that will support and empower Black women entrepreneurs in Baltimore and beyond.
