Job Description

We welcome applications from people interested in seeking a permanent, full time or part time role, fixed term or on a contract basis as we are growing. Fast.

We are Public Digital, a digital transformation consultancy and we help global institutions that matter thrive in the internet era. We apply the culture, processes, business models and technologies to help teams build and run excellent services. Working with the leaders doing strategy, and the teams doing delivery, we operate globally, advising companies and governments on six continents.

We’re values-driven and we articulated them in our ‘positions’.

Attitude, as much as skill, is critically important to us as a team and we look for entrepreneurialism, initiative, kindness, and a willingness to pitch in. Our theory of change is: Digital. Teams. Work.

Role overview

Our Network of Experts is critical to Public Digital. Our global Experts are fundamental in the delivery of client engagements, recognised as highly respected leaders in their field. Spanning the essential skills set to facilitate successful Digital Transformation, our Experts have backgrounds in areas such as digital strategy, technology, design, product management, user research, coaching, agile delivery as well as programme and project management.

The Director is dedicated to growing, developing and coordinating our highly valued Network, facilitating a vibrant and engaged global community. This role is known internally as 'Network Director'

What you’ll do for us:

  • Lead the Expert Network as a service for Public Digital and its Expert community;

  • Grow the Network into a global community of recognised Experts, representing our diverse client profile;

  • Identify the digital skills needed, implement approaches to find and engage the talent to match those requirements;

  • Sustain and build the global Expert community through timely, relevant and regular community engagement, including communications regarding Public Digital’s growth and client engagements;

  • Work with sector, client leads, as well as the People Director and People Coordinator on teaming for engagements, ensuring the right skills and culture mix, aligned to the commercials of the engagement;

  • Responsible for planning and implementing a sustainable staffing and teaming approach to engagements for the Network;

  • Identify hard to fill skill sets in advance of the engagements and take steps to find the appropriate people;

  • Develop the Network screening and selection process to ensure clarity of responsibility and efficiency of time. Make the process a great experience for our Experts;

  • Develop a clear vision and narrative about the purpose and direction for the Network to help onboard, attract and retain our Experts;

  • Offboard Experts elegantly, sharing and gathering learning that enhances the Network;

  • Ensure the systems used to capture information and data on Experts and their availability for sector, client and engagement leads meet their needs and are up to date;

  • Manage and negotiate rates in line with business modelling and proposals. Liaise with the People Director to ensure the correct mechanism of engaging an Expert is identified and agreed for our longer term engagements.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience of working within a digital transformation consultancy;

  • Understanding and operational experience of the key skills and roles required for effective delivery of Digital Transformation;

  • Critical knowledge of the talent marketplace and talent trends across a global setting;

  • Problem solver;

  • Global talent attraction and acquisition knowledge and experience;

  • Experience of building teams of people for effective and efficient delivery of digital transformation projects, able to build an engaged community of people;

  • Understanding of commercial modelling;

  • A clear and concise communicator, persuasive and a negotiator;

  • Strong understanding of IR35 and GDPR;

  • Experience working with Google Workspace and comfortable experimenting with and rapidly adopting emerging cloud-based tools;

  • Collaborative and agile mindset, comfortable with internet-era ways of working;

  • Empathy for the PD team, client, and Expert contexts and multi-disciplinary team dynamics;

  • The ability to balance and prioritise competing operational needs in a strategic context.

What’s in it for you?

  • Opportunity to grow and progress rapidly within an engaged, supportive environment;

  • Be entrepreneurial and contribute to the growth and success of Public Digital;

  • Focus on enabling people to deliver high-impact work with leading institutions around the world;

  • Be empowered to do your best job;

  • Home and remote working, flexibility in how you deliver work;

  • Focus on learning, development and progression;

  • Ability to build and develop your expertise and profile through publishing blog posts, presenting at events and sharing knowledge and experience;

  • Buddy system and prioritised mental health;

  • Generous holiday allowance;

  • Private healthcare;
