Which daily threatens
To dull her edge
An obscured view
Is sometimes all she needs

Hazy summer morning
Senses heightened
By feeling in a world
Which daily threatens
To dull her edge
An obscured view
Is sometimes all she needs
To find her inner vision

Discerning and detaching
From the forms that brought her here
Yearning and attaching
To the visions she holds dear
Creating the change
She wants to see
Becoming the one
She wants to be
©Ashley Castle Barnes

She tries to imagine
Her way out
Her mind heavy with visions
Of peace, love, radical acceptance
But she knows
As she treads along the path
That one sacred foot in front of the other
Is the only way through
©Ashley Castle Barnes

She sees past
What others want her to be
And that makes her dangerous,
Bold
And she delights in her sight,
Feels the eyes cold
Upon her,
As she brings to light
Her vision for her world

She is the bridge,
The one who lays the foundation
As she grows,
And she shows the way
For those who hold a new vision,
Taking steps together
To break the molds
She was told must be,
Crumbling beneath her feet
For all those bridge-builders out there, keep building.
Keep tearing down the old ways and creating the new.
The world needs your vision.
The world needs YOU.

She shares her heart
And lets the love flow in
She shares her mind
And lets the vision flow in
She shares her soul
And lets the energy flow in

I’ve spent a lot of time as an adult trying to allow the flow in, without sharing myself outward.
It didn’t feel safe to be too open or share too much.
Better to play it close to the vest, so no one gets hurt (again).
But, the flow is always a give AND take.
When we open and share, we make space for something new to come in.
I teach sensitive women to protect their energy and set good energetic boundaries, but it’s never about building walls.
It’s always about staying in your own energy while also staying open to what is possible.
And that doesn’t happen if we’re building a wall of protection around ourselves because there’s no room for the flow.
How are you managing the give and take today?

Her mind racing
With possibility
Her heart afire
With the burning
Of big ideas
Visions dancing
In the shadows
Willing her
Into the light

I don’t know about you, but some days I just wake up with ideas, thoughts, and plans.
Okay it’s actually every day that I wake up like this, but some days it’s more intense. More clear. More within reach.
Some days it feels bigger and the pull is stronger.
Do you ever feel into your body to know what’s the next right step?
I find that when I’m following something that on paper makes sense, I don’t feel the same kind of intensity.
It may feel right in my head, but not necessarily in my body. There’s no visceral reaction.
But when I start to veer away from what makes sense and open more to what feels right, that’s when I wake up with my mind on fire.
The kind of fire that clears the path and fuels the way there. The kind of fire that creates clarity rather than destruction.
And then I have a choice…follow what makes sense or follow what lights a fire.
What fire is willing you out of the shadows and into the light today?

What is peace
If not of the mind
The flower of her soul
Blooming, ever-present
Winding into the cracks
Its fragrance and light
What will become of her
If not for every other word
Ringing in her ears

So often a goal we seek is to quiet the mind. Meditate. Be still. Send those thoughts off on a cloud.
Which for so many of us is nearly impossible to do. Busy, productive minds. Always thinking, dreaming, visioning.
What happens if this quiets?
For those who are constantly on, stillness can feel like stagnancy. Without the constant noise of imagination, we feel empty.
And yet, we need stillness. Our bodies, minds, and souls need to relax from a constant state of stimulation.
And so we re-imagine stillness as possibility, as a clean slate for an even deeper level of creation, growth, and knowing.
We lean into the fear of stagnancy and emptiness, for the opportunity to know a moment of peace.
We embrace stillness as a playground for feeling all the feels — joy, fun, and even sadness, if that comes up.
And we still think, dream, and vision.
How are leaning into stillness today?

Will her vision
Ever be clear
Guiding her
No longer hiding
But revealing
What just a short time before
She couldn’t see
And if it’s clear and simple
Will it still be intriguing
Or will it just be part of
Who she is
