What does her heart
Want today
To be whisked away
Or to stay
With the shadows
That guide her away
And remind her
That lightness
Isn’t the only way
To play

It takes so much energy, she thinks,
To keep denying parts of me
And I’m so very tired
What if this energy could be used instead
To free the very parts I hide
Let their faces see the light
And the tingle up her neck tells her
She’s onto something big
Something is stirring inside

In stillness,
Truth rises to the top,
And when it does
Ego aims to knock it down,
Frightened of its own inner shadow,
Not willing to share
Who it perceives itself to be
But you know,
Truth won’t let you forget
Ego is not the captain of your ship
Not unless you allow it,
Not unless you suppress
The truth that is you

The Angels remind us that our shadow is as much a part of us as our light. When we keep our shadow hidden, we fail to embrace the totality of who we are. When we allow ourselves to witness our shadow in the light of day, we embrace healing, our own and that of the world.

As I walk through the valleys and the shadows
There is light
Originating from places I must excavate,
Investigate
Before I even get near
Light from places so deep and buried
That I long ago forgot
They existed at all
Yet that barely imperceptible light,
Which has somehow made its presence known,
Provides hope,
Provokes longing for a place I cannot see
And as I look for guidance
The light grows brighter still
Until, in some moments,
All I can perceive is my light
I am surrounded, bathed, engulfed
I am the light
And then I open my eyes
And walk, enlightened, into the world

The end of the year can be a time of strong emotions. The angels want you to acknowledge and embrace those feelings if you have them. Don’t push them away, bury them, or power through. Allow them to wash over you, fill the cracks of who you are, for they ARE you. You are the light and the shadow. Embrace and find comfort in your whole, beautiful self.
