What if all along
She was never wrong
For wanting more,
For leaving the shore
And choosing to dive deeper,
For longing to see herself whole
Despite the forces that collude
And collide and control

Like the sun rising through the treetops
Her smile betrays her naked longing
To populate the branches of her mind
With delicate pink and green buds of spring
Fragrant and blooming
And filling in the void
Between her body and the sky

She touches a single finger
To the cold glass
As if it might transport her
To the landscape beyond,
Frosted with winters chill
And breathtaking in its simplicity,
She wishes this for herself
And so much more

Even when she feels
She’s running late,
Behind the gate that blocks her
From where she wants to be,
When she slows
She knows the key exists
Inside her longing heart
To her freedom, her resistance
Letting go

I’ve circled around this feeling time and time again.
The feeling that something is stopping me, blocking me, holding me back.
So I do more, think more, try different things, until I’m worn out and discouraged.
And then usually, I remember that it isn’t the DOING more that moves me forward.
It’s the BEING more.
More still. More grounded. More present in my body. More connected to my feelings. More aware of my energy and impact.
It’s a truth that I have to come back to time and again.
I may teach it to others but I need the reminder too.
Perhaps you needed it today as well?

In the calling
And the longing
She rises to walk
In the knowing
That she is loved
She is whole
She is the one
She’s been waiting for

I just love the expression on the woman’s face in this graphic. She looks so happy, so vibrant, so confident in herself.
It resonates with me because it’s the fleeting feelings I access when I remember that the external world is there for context and learning and input but that any change I want comes from within.
Maybe “change comes from within” sounds a little cliche or too simple. To be honest, it’s not simple at all.
My go-to is always to find an expert to help me. Which totally makes sense when it’s something I have limited or zero knowledge about.
But also, I’ve been burned many times by solely relying on even the most expert advice from others when I didn’t examine their advice through my own lens of discernment.
When I assumed I didn’t know enough to know better, assumed since they were the expert that I should do it, even when everything inside me was screaming the opposite.
This is how I’ve given my power away, time and time again.
It’s not that I always know the exact answer – far from it.
But I definitely have clues in my body when something is right – and when it’s not.
We all do.
And cultivating this sense helps us not only to cut through all the noise and discern the best choices for us, but also to reconnect with who we are at a deep level.
To become really clear on our boundaries, what we will accept and what we won’t. Who we let in and who we don’t.
Which directly relates to feeling happy, vibrant, and confident – because we’re making choices in alignment with ourselves.
How are you cultivating your inner knowing today?

This longing
She allows
And she watches
As it grows
And it climbs
Into spaces
Not touched
Oh how she longs
To be touched

Her longing to be free
Still clings to old embodiments
Embedded in soul spaces
That cannot seem to let go
Why do they hold so tightly
And what will help them soften their grip
What easing of lifetimes past
May free her from their grasp?

The longing doesn’t stop
As she moves forward
Yet she embraces her fears
Not sure what’s ahead
But knowing in her heart
That what’s behind her
Isn’t for her anymore

Inside our aching, breaking hearts
Lives a song, a melody
A fleeting remembrance of a time in which
We never lived
But loved and knew it all the same
The sights, the smells, the sounds
All embedded in our cells
Yet only a masquerade of light
Why then, does it feel so real?
Why then, do our hearts long
For something out of reach?
Unless our DNA has slipped away
To travel worlds without us
And bring us back together
A new person
A new song
