She can’t escape the rain
so she focuses on the flowers
glistening, swaying against
the drops of melancholy
her heart so full with beauty
her mind cannot complain

When difficulty or discomfort strikes, do you find solace in escape?
And if you can’t escape physically, then spiritually will do?
Allowing the essence of who we are to float up, up into another realm, while the body continues on with no guidance.
Making its way with no steering through the storms.
Put that way, it sounds terrible. And yet escape for the sensitive soul is often self-preservation.
But what if there is another way?
What if staying embodied is really the only way?
It’s daring to be so bold as to embody our full range of experience in this world which practically begs us to escape.
It can be so lovely up in the clouds, and also so lonely.
What if just for today, we all stay here on the ground, together?
What good could we do then?
