I will say I did purchase a boot for it and that has helped tremendously with the scratching of the bottom. On the good side this cup is so easy to clean you literally just pinch the bottom of the lid thing and it comes right off. (See picture) You can also choose if you want to close it, use and straw, or sip from it. Like I said it holds ice for a very long time and/or it keeps your coffee hot all day. I love mine and I hope this helps someone!

    I have enjoyed using my Stanley mug, especially for the fact that it can hold 40 oz of water. Ice stays fairly well (about half a day working inside), and water stays cold all day even if ice is melted. I’ve noticed that my mug scratches really easily and I am not rough with it. I drink from it when I work (at a desk most of the day) and I’ll take it with me on long car rides since it can last me a good chunk of my car ride. I mostly hand wash my mug to ensure the longevity of the mug and its ability to keep my water cold. Overall, I would suggest a Stanley cup to my friends and family despite the higher price tag and the heaviness of the mug when full.
