    This is the answer to my prayers. I’m profoundly deaf and can’t hear a regular doorbell, so regularly miss callers & deliveries. Plus, I like to spend a lot of time in the garden during the warmer weather. I’ve tried several deaf friendly ‘solutions’ in the past, including flashing units and loud receivers. All of which are either too cumbersome and impractical to carry around, or need to be plugged into the mains.

    This little beauty was so simple to install and set up. It literally took me 10 minutes to do. It’s connected via the app to my Apple Watch, so that whenever someone is at the door, whether they press the bell or not (when motion sensor is activated) I am notified by either my phone or watch vibrating an alert. I can send an automated voice response to the unit to let the caller know I’m on the way. The picture quality is exceptional both day and night and I can choose to ignore the alert without them knowing I’m home. I can also hold a 2-way conversation with them via the app.

    With the standard subscription, it can record activity 24/7 which is great when fantasy storytelling couriers claim to have rung the bell to deliver a package!

    There’s an alert from the app when the unit needs charging, and is a very fast process using the supplied cable.

    I’m VERY VERY happy with my Ring doorbell and have recommended it to many deaf friends.

    This doorbell is used to replace my old ring door bell that was damaged by intruders attempting to remove it from the wall, in the end they used a hammer to smash it, not realising that they had been captured on video and the actual door bell did not store (unlike some video door bells) the video.
