- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2026Functional and true to description
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2022Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4KVerified PurchaseI’ve had a few Fire TV sticks over the years, and generally I love them. For this model, the first one I got was a dud. It died in 2 days. Amazon took me through some reasonable troubleshooting steps, then replaced it quickly and easily. The second one is a lot better.
In general, I find the remote has a weird tendency to, I guess “rot” is the word. The case starts to feel like it’s covered in a sticky mess. I don’t know why. I guess that’s why the remote covers are so popular. Not a stopping point – they still work – just a point of note. The optional game controllers do not have this issue.
There are ample streaming options. I’ve yet to look for something, even less common things like Wonderium and Funimation, and not find it. The UI is easy to navigate. The device is responsive. I put it through a 7.1 sound system and it can handle that no problem.
A few things to note, not exactly faults of the product, but faults you will encounter while using the product.
For the Disney+ login, the trick of using the phone just errors out and asks to re-authenticate over and over. If you use a strong password, that can be a pain. Once it works, it’s fine, just a pain to set up.
For the Ubisoft+ integration, for many of the games it starts to load then fails. I don’t see the same issue on the same games on PC, so it’s probably related to the app. This was the primary purpose for which I bought the device, so it is a bit of a disappointment. Also note, you need the Luna service for this, which is totally worth it on its own, by the way. Also, at least for me, while the video streaming was fine over WiFi, the gaming required the Ethernet adapter.
It’s not perfect, but it’s outstanding for such a low price. I often use it rather than power up my PS5 to watch Netflix because it is so much more convenient, and of identical quality.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2025Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4KVerified PurchaseThe Fire TV Stick 4K works perfectly — fast, smooth, and easy to set up. The voice control with Alexa is super convenient, and image quality is excellent. Great value for home entertainment!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2023Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4KVerified PurchaseI finally took the plunge and decided to cut the cable cord, and the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K has been the superhero of my entertainment world. Here's why this purchase has been a game-changer.
First and foremost, the picture quality is stunning. It's like having a cinematic experience in my own living room. The 4K Ultra HD streaming delivers crystal-clear visuals and vibrant colors, making every movie night feel like a trip to the theater.
The setup was a breeze, even for someone who's not particularly tech-savvy. In a matter of minutes, I was browsing through a world of content. With access to countless apps, streaming services, and channels, it's like having the universe of entertainment at my fingertips.
And the best part? No more cable bill! It's like a financial sigh of relief. With the Fire TV Stick, I have access to an array of free and paid content, so I can tailor my entertainment choices without the monthly cable fees.
The voice remote is a genius addition. I just speak into it, and it magically finds what I'm looking for. It's like having a personal assistant for your TV.
As someone who enjoys binge-watching series and discovering new shows, the Fire TV Stick's recommendation feature is spot-on. It's like it knows my taste better than I do.
In conclusion, if you're contemplating cutting the cable cord, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is the way to go. It's like a window to a world of entertainment without the cable hassles. The picture quality, user-friendliness, and cost savings make it a superior choice. I haven't looked back since, and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. 📺🍿💰
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2024Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4KVerified PurchaseMy first Fire TV Stick was purchased in 2019. Now it's five years later and this original one is still working fine.
Last year I bought a new and upgraded version -- Fire TV Stick 4K (the subject of this review) because of two reasons: (1) This upgraded version has more memory so it has been faster than my original, and (2) The remote with the new one can control my television and sound bar whereas the original remote could only control the original Fire TV stick but none of my other components. This made using the new one much more convenient than the original because I only needed one remote control rather than three.
I got 10 or 11 months of reliable service from the new 4K version, but that's when it started to fail. It started buffering downloads and streaming content more and more until it completely failed several days ago.
That's when I called Amazon and learned that the new 4K model still had about three days left on its warranty, so I packed it up and shipped it to them for repairs according to the instructions provided on the Amazon website.
In this day and age, small electronic gadgets like this will normally be replaced when they fail, so I'm not convinced that Amazon will actually repair it. But it's up to them to decide whether to repair or replace my defective unit. Either way it looks like they will honor the warranty, and I should have my repaired unit back (or a new replacement unit?) within a week or two.
I was very happy with this new 4K version until it started failing. At first I thought my AT&T Internet was getting slow, but after running multiple tests suggested by the AT&T technician and then running additional tests suggested by the Amazon technician, we all learned that it is actually the Fire TV 4K Stick that has become defective.
Here's an additional side note that may be of interest to some people:
The new remote that came with the 4K Stick actually works with my original Fire TV Stick from five years ago ... so even though the new Fire TV Stick 4K itself is defective, its remote works fine in terms of continuing to control my TV, my sound bar, and my original five-year-old Fire TV Stick.
