All printers are plastic so you have to be careful, you can't just be rough with any printer that you buybfor the home. This was exactly what I wanted. I'm extremely happy.       I changed my starting because it started out great but after a short time it stopped printing and was missing parts of the item I’d want to print ! Very frustrating!!! This is the third HP printer I’ve tried out now and it sucks! I wouldn’t recommend the brand at all the customer service is terrible no one speaks English they’re very rude too! Plus the whole instant ink program is a complete rip off and just so you know if you stop using the instant ink program your printer will be rendered useless you can’t go out and just buy your own cartridges I highly suggest you read the consumer comments on their FB page you’ll see it’s not just me having a whine ok as for connectivity it’s always dropping the WiFi connection. Noise wise it wasn’t too bad at all. As for appearance it looked good but made of cheap materials you can tell. So yep go check out other reviews and decide for yourself if you want to waste your money! 🤷‍♀️😊

Since Windows 11 gives issues with HP 5740. Quality is good value for the money is good. Has Scanning capability, Print Quality is good. There's Various print size a slot to adjust paper size. Longevity. Ease of Setup WIFI connections with HP app, also you have the option to connect to PC using usb cable which luckily I have since I'm a tech person. It didn't come with USB Cable. I will update on how long it last. My previous HP 5740 Printer lasted since 2010 it still works but not on my newer pc. It comes with ink too

      This printer keeps losing internet connection, the print quality is bad because it seems to either be out of alignment and it won't fix no matter what instructions I follow. You have to print out instructions and they're hard to read because the ink is faded on one side of the print out, or some words print out faded. I installed new cartridges so it's not an issue of not enough ink. This thing has printed from my phone successfully just ONE time. The scanner is okay, but again, if the wifi isn't connecting, then you're screwed if you don't have a printer cord. Print speed is so so. Or maybe I've learned to tolerate its speed because my initial thought was that it was slow. I don't like that I have to subscribe to get more ink. And now since the internet is acting messed up, the HP website won't know when I need new ink... Setup originally seemed okay, but when I changed internet providers and had to reassign the wifi network, it took FOREVER to find ways to troubleshoot the connection problem. I looked on youtube and that provided some insight which got me closer to what I needed to do. I finally had to delete the printer from the app and start from scratch. That worked. But again, after being idle for a couple of weeks, I need to print again and it's saying it can't connect to the printer again. SO FRUSTRATING. I don't want this machine anymore.

      I have never had a bad experience HP products, and this printer is no exception. HP Instant Ink is an added bonus that made my choice simple. The fact that I got 15 months (up to 700 pages) free was certainly a welcome surprise. The printer was easy to install, easy to use and print quality is great. I haven't tried it for photos, but I didn't buy it for that either so as far as I'm concerned it was well worth the price (which is reasonable). I highly recommend this printer to anyone looking for a simple, quality printer for home.

      Set up was quick and easy and i can print directly from my phone or computer wirelessly.
      I'm not sure if activating HP+ was the best decision. Basically for 3 months i can print up to 700 pages/month. after which i would need to subscribe to a ink plan and payment is now per page not per cartridge. If i cancel the subscription the cartridge would deactivate and i'd need to buy a genuine HP cartridge from the store.
      However i wonder if it would have been better not to activate and just directly shop offbrand.

      I bought this product in December, 2024 have used this printer very little - actually I am only on my 2nd supply of ink. Yet in June, 2025 I had to start paying HP $2.50 a month in order to print 10 pages per month and still be supplied with ink when I needed it. I thought I was supposed to get 6 months free ink! In fact, I only got two batches! The printer started off well, producing quality printing. But now, and in spite the fact that the printer is showing the ink supply is full, and is set on the top quality media setting, it is only printing each letter halfway.. To clarify, half of each letter is printed and I am left to fill the rest in by hand with a black ink pen! I am incredibly disappointed with the whole thing, and feel that Amazon should not be selling this item. It feels like a real scam to me. I have been left with no other alternative and have just ordered a Canon printer and supply of ink and hope I have better luck.
