Hey folks, this is confirmed to be an issue with a new peformance improvement for Azure Map "pie markers", only in publish to web. We have a QFE staged for this week and it should complete in most regions by February 24th. This only impacts markers where you also have a Legend field, and only in Publish to Web (public embed).

Based on customer reporting, this seems to have resolved.

The issue has been identified and a fix will be out in 3-4 weeks, thanks for reporting.

The issue only occurs when the reference layer keys result in zero matches with the location field query results. It's an issue with "selection" interaction manager, clicking anywhere on the map should clear initial selection state for this case and render with expected transparency.

We were actually working on this recently, it should be deployed in about a month!

The Image settings were updated as part of GA, you will probably need to update the image area % based on what I'm seeing above, as the new visual can accept both and you need to set the % of callout area.

Update with November build of Desktop and re-publish.

We have heard this feedback from a few sources, and are considering how to add this back. It was a "bug" that this could happen previously, as the spec called for consistency and alignment across all the measures within the same visual. Knowing that some of you liked this behavior, we want to bring it back, but it won't be super quick. Stay tuned.
