I am a 5th year Computer Science PhD student at Stony Brook University, NY currently working with Prof. H Andrew Schwartz . I recieved my Bachelor's in Computer Science from SSN College Of Engineering, Chennai. I was also an Undergraduate Research Assistant working in the advisory of Vineeth Vijayaraghavan.
Machine learning offers a powerful way to do data-driven science. However, it is limited in its ability to model and evaluate ecological human behavior. On the other hand, Psychology uses simple yet robust methodological frameworks to study human behavior. My inter-disciplinary research bridges this gap by (a) adapting machine learning frameworks with psychological methods to effectively model and evaluate human behaviors, and (b) explaining the underlying schema of machine learning models by applying behavioral analysis.
During my bachelor’s, my research focused on non-stationary time-series in volatile systems. I also served as the first data scientist at Motorq (a connected car data platform), identifying and solving some of the primal problems for the company.
